FAITH

FAITH

When down and out with nothing left,

Parched of spirit, courage to sundry worldly affairs,

No visible sign to stand up,

Atonement no answer to any gaping questions,

Vicious dark clouds seen all over,

shadowy future stares deep in the eye,

Endearing ones turn into the dreary ones,

Then God reminds humans,

That He is there to infuse in thee,

A loveable ray of hope and well-being,

‘Faith’ – being utterly sure of what we hope for,

A hope which may be invisible,

This universe was made at God’s command,

So that what is seen was not made out of what was visible,

A man with faith is at peace with himself and others,

Even after his death he is immortalized,

As faith was his principal he held prized,

With faith, thee can hold His grace,

Rewards are showered on those who trust Him,

Faith brings forth His grace in immeasurable measure,

Visible or invisible we see His Artistic Hand,

Guiding and prodding His creations,

When good or bad fortunes befall,

His guidance through various cues warn,

Righteousness is engendered through impeccable faith,

Though will be subject of His test,

He is the Chief Architect of the Universe,

With faith emerges the impossible,

His grace can grace anything any time,

A parched land could transform to be greenery,

A hopeless could earn hope,

When hope has become hopeless,

With faith, any kingdom could be conquered,

Can quell the fury of fires,

Which has engulfed the edifice of ours,

With faith any difficulty could be surpassed,

Even can rise from ultimate slumber,

Faith can ‘move mountains’ is well said,

Ultimate is the faith which takes you to

Your ultimate  destination – a meeting with Him,

And all your care and cautions will be His,

Faith in Him and in His creations,

Will solve the knotty problems with ease.

We expect much from our prayers, even though we do not have right intention or attitude for the same. Everything about the meditation or prayer to remember our Creator is just a ritual confined to mechanical recitation of the mantras, either read out verbatim or through memory. It is loud and showy. Even donation offered is wanted to be announced in religious congregation on a PA system. Is there any sacredness attached in this? Or is it a mere show to show others that one is very religious. This sort of prayer or meditation to propitiate God is not understood.

Secondly, only certain days are fixed for different deities. People throng in that particular day in front of that deity and that deity is just left out on other days as if His importance has diminished on those days.

The Dharshan of the deity is also reserved for some known fellows or VIPs/VVIPs. The others hapless are looked after and told to ‘go out’ and not allowed to have Dharshan. I have been subjected to such treatment by the temple priests many a times. Even yesterday, I was turned request for a Dharshan of the Sai Baba was turned down at one of the known temples. I got disappointed at the treatment meted out to me but could not do anything since I am a commoner in front of those VIPs/VVIPs. In the Altars of even God, some get second rated action by the ‘powers that be’ in the corridors of our Creator.

God save me from these very important figure-heads you have created.  I have only read that in the eyes of our Lord, there is no discrimination. Pauper or the king is given the same treatment. But is it so really?

Importantly, it is a travesty of fact that our Creator takes ten steps if we venture to take even a single one. But that single step should be taken with right earnest. No show offs, I imagine, otherwise your prayers would be an exercise in futility – a puzzle which has to be resolved once for all if you want to know about your Creator and be with Him ever and ever.
