ON OUR DEVOTION

ON OUR DEVOTION

While we’re traversing on the intellectual path
We shall revolve around following one path to other path
For we shall be following a path of logic
With no pin-pointed destination to reach
We just stray from one goal to other
With no sure final course to be taken
For it’s based on infinite openings
To assuage our ego in us in existence
Even after trying relentlessly with no respite
With no closing owing to no satiety till the end of an innings
As earthlings.

But if we want to have liberation as the ultimate goal
Then, first of all, we’ve to be a devout disciple
Devotion can show us the path with ease
Provided our approach is with utmost sincere.

Devotion is akin to complete surrender without any rider
To the will of the succor Provider
Such a passenger
Does not stop at every stations
But has a clear view of his destination
He travels with organized thoughts and with get-up-and-go attitude
Since his choice is in sync with his inner thoughts.
Devotion is not an easy thing to achieve
Since for a devotee
Everything and everybody is superior
And he has to gain knowledge from each of the fellow without bias
Since this fellow believes in his heart of hearts
That emotional receptivity
Hardly means the feeling of superiority or inferiority.
In devotion we act in joy abandon
Being free of any limits or bounds
Living in these free environs of freedom
All vistas of opportunities open for us to envelop us in its bosom.
Devotion is the all encompassing journey
Without any confusion till our purpose of life is attained finally
Being sensitive and with utmost simplicity
While on the path to finish the journey
Then every breath we take is for the journey we’ve to travel
We undertake for frutification of purpose of life
To attain Moksha – the liberation from births and deaths.

We should be such a sincere devotees of God
That such a relation is a secret between us and our Creator
With no third party intervention at all
With its origin at the centre of our heart
A meeting place which never misleads.
. Thus where there is devotion
There is a existence of God’s grace in abundance.

The devotion means to live with full commitment, faithfulness, dedication besides realism with which some people tend to live. This devotion results when a person performs his duty with a feeling of total commitment. Here a Yogi or devotee does not tarry from his assigned task though he has to face difficult situation and condition with calm mentality and by exploiting our inner potentials with total detachment to the fruits of our Karma. We may, sometimes have to work in hostile environment at our work-place, we should not lose our moorings. Here self-belief and belief on our Creator can pull us through. While doing so, we should shun our egocentric tendencies. We should just have total balance both in failure and success. There may come any difficulties, we should not feel let down. Although, we may be termed as inferiors by others, yet we should not lose our self-belief come what may. This devotion comes when we have unwavering belief on our God. I term this devotion or commitment – leading a life of spiritual orientation.

Whatever we do, we should do it with fullest of our sincerity with clear purpose of action in mind. It may be our duty or spiritual devotion. Whatever it may be, it should be to the optimum dedication, by putting all our resources at our command without an iota of skepticism in our mind . Towards this end, if we’ve to put up with insults or lowly life we should not retreat our steps since we know that our path is chosen with spiritual inclination in mind – without rancor or ill-will for anyone.

To surrender completely helps us to pursue our espoused destination. It is essential that our habits, attitudes and thoughts are directed positively with no doubts lurking in our mindset. Shirdi Sai Baba Ji had opined that we should remain trying even if we fail a few times. If our goal is demarcated, we shall perform our task with clear mind. Once it so happened, he had assigned some children to make some earthen-wicks, one of the makers of these wicks was a child with trembling hands. The child, after a great difficulty, was able to make one wick. Baba Ji felt very happy and told him to place the made out wick other wicks in the basket kept in the sun for drying up. While he was placing the wick, the basket full of raw earthen wicks fell to the ground thus breaking almost all the wicks. All the children including Baba Ji were very disappointed as the festival was only a few days away.

Therefore, he extracted a promise from the boy to help remake the wicks as soon as possible even working overtime. The boy started making the wicks himself. In that process, he was so much devoted to his task that he forgot that his hands were trembling. This way, the boy not only finished the task at hand but his hands too stopped trembling. Thus our devotion coupled with our sincerity to the task at hand makes huge difference. Therefore, Baba Ji’s advice, that our sincerity of purpose and devotion to our duty makes huge difference. While we are devoted towards the mission accomplishment, we can perform any task since it becomes our spiritual devotion and we become Yogi of Karma; the perfect devotees.
Essentially, where there is a devotion, there resides our God
