ON PUTTING OFF THINGS

ON PUTTING OFF THINGS IN ANY SITUATIONS

A BREAKING CHAIN IF NOT MADE SERVICEABLE TIMELY WILL BREAK SUDDENLY

The maxim: NEVER PUT OFF TILL TOMORROW WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY should always be kept in mind. If we postpone anything which we can do at the present moment then, sure enough, the time lost is lost forever. Especially so in the Covid-19 pandemic situation, it is most relevant. If we have initial any or all the symptoms of sneezing, bad cold, headache, dry cough, loose motion, difficulty in breathing, we should not waste time but get ourselves tested in an authorized lab under controlled conditions without wastage of time otherwise the virus may complicate the matters. We should never forget that procrastination on the matters hinging on our health issues may complicate matters.

Then postponing important issues impinging on the national security like timely defence related procurement or raising requisite necessary infrastructure for will cost a country concerned dearly. It should never be forgotten that no country should forget if you want peace you should prepare yourself for war. And for this, procrastination in any way may prove counter-productive.

In essence, t should always be remembered that the time and tide waits for none. Present moment is only our precious possession which we should never lose; losing this precious gift means losing the opportunity to do something tangible which will stand us in good stead. We should, therefore, never forget, past is dead which will never come back except for its memories and scars which it leaves and future is uncertain; nobody has ever seen tomorrow.

The maxim ‘A stitch in time saves nine’ should always be kept in mind. If we keep on putting off things then a time will dawn when the work which could be accomplished with ease may become most complex or may become intractable.

There is a fable of a lazy merchant who went from town to town with his merchandise on his horseback. The merchant was lazy since he did not check that his horse was perfectly travel-worthy. Knowing fully well that his horse was limping hugely due to iron horse-shoe guard in one of the hooves had gotten loose. Only a nail was required to fixed  but the lazy merchant did not do that while he was travelling in the town where he could have got it fixed.

His next destination was through a thick jungle which was infested with dacoits; and it was getting dark too. He continued his journey and in the process the iron shoe-guard fell off due to which the horse could not move any further. The merchant was forced to walk and as a result all the remaining merchandise including the cash was looted by them. He lost everything which he had earned from the sale of his merchandise due to his habit of procrastination. This should serve us a lesson for all those who put off things.

The following should be kept in mind always:-

Avail the present moment. It is our asset which could be meaningfully exploited to its maximum. Whatever you can, do it now, presently. It is the golden opportunity. Never lose it.

Past is dead. It can only give us experiences which could be utilised presently but never forget that it will not come come back. But if we do not transact a thing presently, the present will become past and will remain haunting us.

The future is unpredictable. Nobody had anticipated or thought that the world would be facing a most trying situation as has been created by Covid-19 pandemic.

Self Belief. Belief that this moment which is ours should never be lost in unnecessary and unproductive pursuits but utilized to make our life sublime besides doing something for others so that others may remember for our good deeds. While self-belief is good but belief in Almighty will prove to be beneficial.

CONCLUSIVELY, importantly, it should always be kept in mind that the NOW & PRESENT MOMENT is the precious gift given to us by our CREATOR, therefore, should never be forgotten. Postponing things is a negative trait and should be overcome with sincere efforts.

The traits of a good nature person and why such a person is subjected to criticism?

The traits of a good nature person and why such a person is subjected to criticism?

A PERSON WITH GOOD NATURE FACES EVERY PROBLEM WITH COURAGE

PERSON WITH GOOD NATURE

A person with good nature
Changes or evolves his thoughts and actions
According to time and space
He is placed
He feels pain
While others are subjected to pain
He is filled, at every step, with compassion
He is self-aware
Knows about his potentials
And also the weak areas
He never pays back in the same coin
The unhealthy criticism directed at him willy-nilly
But from his mistakes he learns a lesson
By forgetting and forgiving others undue criticism leveled at him
The other traits
Is his quality of confessing his faults
When he commits those anyway
He does not feel perfect
He knows, being human
He has imperfections
And tries living with them
Thereby does his thoughts and actions
Bereft of ill-will
Walks with feet firmly on the ground
Detached
Egoless
Bereft of covetousness
Free from anger
Lust
Full of trust
In God
And His graces
For realization of purpose of his existence
And finally attain Liberation
From births and deaths for good.

First of all, it is in the fitness of things to understand a good nature person. A person with good nature is positively oriented and directs his energies in performance of good Karmic deeds. Such a person is not directionless in any situation and condition.

The following are the traits of a good nature person:-

  1. A person with good nature does not have covetousness, does not have ill-will for others besides does not force his/her opinions onto others,
  2. A person with good nature does not react to an adverse situation or condition.
  3. A person with good nature respect others’ privacy.
  4. A good nature person does not disrespect others.
  5. A good nature person never ill-treats others.
  6. A good nature person obeys the laws of nature and social norms that a society sets for everybody.
  7. A good nature person comes to the rescue of people in need even, sometimes, putting a peril his/her own life.
  8. A good nature person is sociable and reliable.
  9. A good nature person goes to any length in helping a person in distress that is he/she is compassionate..
  10. A good nature person feels pain while he/she sees somebody in pain.
  11. A good nature person is spiritually oriented one. He/she does his/her duty with sincerity and honesty.
  12. A good nature person is not jealous of others good fortune.
  13. A good nature person stays calm despite provocation.
  14. A good nature person has sublime habits, attitude and behaviour.
  15. A person with good nature never pays back in the same coin.
  16. A person with good nature know his/her limit and he/she never transgresses that limit.
  17. A person with good traits believes in himself/herself and possesses indomitable belief in the existence of God.
  18. A person with good nature spiritually oriented person who does his/her duty with a complete focus on thoughts and actions and not on the results with a firm belief that if thoughts and actions are sincere then results will always be appropriate.
  19. A person with good traits never feels let down if he/she meets with failure. He/she always tries again without feeling let down.
  20. A person with good traits is self-realized, such a person knows his/her potentials and weaknesses i.e. he/she is self-conscious/self-aware.
  21. A person with good traits goes out of the way in assisting others in distress.
  22. A person with good traits does his Karmic deeds based on the new norms with changed time and space. His/her ideas are evolved as the situations and conditions demand.
  23. Such a person is not egocentric and does not believe in ‘I, me and mine’.

From the above, it could be construed that a good nature person person faces criticism because of the following aspects:-

  1. Good nature person is criticized because some people feel jealous of this good nature person.
  2. People think a good nature person as a conceited one which actually is not the case – this is due to the fact that people do not understand this good fellow.
  3. A good nature person does not pay in the same coin or does not rebut the criticism leveled against himself/herself, therefore, because this fellow thinks rebutting would be a waste of time and energy. I have experienced such a case myself. In my home-town, I was lambasted because of my ill-directed criticism. My neighbour objectified me as illiterate and fickle minded one since I did not do TIT FOR TAT. I kept cool and that was construed as my weakness.
  4. Such a person learns from the healthy criticism and forgets and forgives the unhealthy criticism of others directed at him/her.

Conclusively, be that as it may, it should never be forgotten that a good nature person is a gift of God, though this fellow is sometimes subjected to unhealthy criticism. I am of the firm conviction that the more a fellow is subjected to unhealthy criticism the more he/she would earning KARMIC CREDIT.

YOGA FOR HOLISTIC GROWTH

EFFICIENCY IN ACTION IS YOGA (KARMA YOGA) – BHAGWAD GITA

The word YOGA has been originated from the Sanskrit word ‘yuja’ meaning to integrate or bind or to align to unite to act or to discipline oneself to act in a natural way to seek complete self-realization or self-awareness. It means the unity or integration of an individual’s consciousness with that of Universal Consciousness.

The International Day of Yoga is being celebrated annually since 21st June 2015. The purpose of this day is to inculcate physical, mental and spiritual development. Since it is inception, this day has a special significance since many countries celebrate this day by participating in the Yogic exercises.

We know that Yoga is a gift of our country to the international community. It embodies thought, body, mind and action in order to create harmony between man and nature. In Yogic practice, we adopt scientific approach in order to have sound mind and sound body.

It is relevant to mention that Yoga Sutras is the theory and practice collated and propagated by Maharishi Patanjali. The Yoga Sutras has a collection of 198 Sutras in number. These were compiled between 500 BCE and 200 BCE. These contain indepth knowledge about Yoga being followed from olden times. His contribution has been recognized as the best for the benefit of humanity. It provided harmony between man and the nature.

The origin of Yoga is mystic in nature. by 5th Century BC, Yoga was very popular. It also finds its place in Vedic Scriptures. But it cannot be disputed that Lord Shiva was the father of ancient Yoga; as His posture shows Him in Yogic mode.

The ancient Rishis believed that our body, mind and the soul have to join together or integrate with the environment in which a person is living. For this to happen meaningfully, it is essential that an individual’s emotions, thinking, actions and intelligence have to be work cohesively in order to realize the purpose of our life.

For integration of the three (body, mind and soul) with environment in which a Yogi is living, various well-coordinated exercises with regular breathing, experienced over a period of time for their applicability; besides meditation are undertaken ultimately for deriving maximum benefits.

For deriving optimum benefit from the Yogic exercises, discipline in the conduct of various exercises, coordination with the various parts of the body especially control of mind and mind cohesiveness is of optimum importance. The Yogis who are disciplines in conduct of Yogic postures with focused attention will get maximum benefits. Yoga exercises also help a Yogi in focused meditation and other daily functions as a disciplined Yogi and lead a spiritual oriented lifestyle to realize the purpose of life – to establish connectivity with Almighty God.

IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF YOGA

SOUND BODY

It is understood that our body works as a entire unit, integrating the task of various organs, for carrying out different functions and if it is hale and hearty and possessing energy and synergy, we can transact more functions with our body. For this to happen, we’ve to have balanced diet besides proper exercises or Yoga exercises to keep it hale and hearty. It is also in sync with the saying: sound mind dwells in sound body.

SOUND MIND

We have to control our mind so that the senses (sense of sight, sense of touch, sense of smell, sense of taste and sense of hearing) which it possess coordinate all the functions of our body eloquently and works in sync with the requirement of a Yogi. Wavering of senses from one object to another just makes our task of focusing more difficult. That is why we have to mind our mind if we want to have complete benefit from Yoga exercises. This is easier said than done since we have to take the assistance of all the organs of our body including internal resolve along with making the environment conducive, so as to make the Yogic exercise a fruitful exercise.

SOUL/SPIRIT

The soul is self which lives in the body and does its functions through it. When there is no soul in our body our body becomes lifeless and becomes a purposeless for any functions. It is just like a rudderless boat floating aimlessly in the vast ocean without destination. Or it is like a bulb without electricity to give energy to give light to us. Hence, we are living, having emotions and perceiving things intelligently or our mind is functional because we’ve got a soul which gives our body life. A soulless body is a lifeless body. When body and mind are in fine fettle then our soul too functions accordingly. It is also well said that our soul or spirit is not apart from the Super Soul (Parm Atama) who is the creator, evolution/preserver and destroyer for reproduction.

BREATHING EXERCISES

Breathing in O2 (Oxygen) and breathing out CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) is one of the most important requirements of our body and if it is closely regimented and systematically done then it proves to be divinely provided sustenance to our body and Yoga bestows us opportunity to enhance breathing methodically which could be proved scientifically. When breathing control is ensured meticulously then we proceed with the next step focused meditation or prayer. While doing so, our mind’s quietness or stillness state is termed as passive activism.

YOGIC EXERCISES & ITS BENEFITS

In Chapter two of Bhagwad Gita, it has been very emphatically mentioned that our responsibility is only to perform our prescribed duty, but we never are entitled to its fruits. It is because our results would be in our favour if there is sincerity in our actions. We should not be motivated by results of our thoughts and actions but we should not be overly attached to the results of our actions. For performing our duty, we should remain balanced minded both in success and failure – no heightened emotions at all. Such a calm temperament and our expertness in performing our task is called YOGA.

Only detached actions (selfless actions) and performing that action with best of our capability will make our pursuit purposeful and meaningful in the long run. We can choose the various duties but it is not in our hands to choose results as we desire. But practically, it has been found that if our pursuit of action is sincere and done with cool temperament then result cannot be disappointing. In this state of mind, even if the results are not good, we shall not be disappointed. The Yogic exercises or Asnas done persistently makes it possible to regulate our breathing thus making it possible to improve the entire metabolic system of our body; in that blood circulation, abdominal organs function perfectly besides keeping all the organs of the body function wonderfully well because every limb of body is benefited with the regulated exercises. When our body is functionally healthy then we can perform various tasks cohesively.

KARMA YOGA – THE YOGA OF ACTION

Karma Yoga is relation to our action that we transact. Before any action is undertaken, it has to be based on some sound thought. The thoughts for action ought to be positive in nature besides being selfless and detachment from the fruits of that action. Karma Yoga has been amply mentioned in Bhagwad Gita stresses that we should transact our actions and detach from the fruits of those actions. Meaning when our actions are based on sound and rational thoughts then their results will have to be good. Also by detaching ourselves from the fruits, we’re able to concentrate/focus on out actions besides offering those actions to God rather than frittering our energies by attaching ourselves with result of our action.

VARIOUS TYPES OF YOGA

HATHA YOGA (YOGA OF POSTURES)

In this branch of Yoga, the Yogis use physical pose or asana with proper breathing exercises or pranayama and subsequent meditation in a focused manner for ensuring good health besides ensuring our spiritual forward march.

BHAKTI YOGA (YOGA OF DEVOTION)

Bhakti word originated from Sanskrit word Bhaja meaning to contemplate, pray, love, worship etc. Here a Yoga meditate persistently thus integrates heart and body functions wherein body, mind and soul just combine for integrating with Super Soul. Yoga of Bhakti makes us aware of ONE DIVINE by undivided concentration and thus helps us see ONE DIVINE in everyone and everything. While Karma-yoga becomes Bhakti-yoga, it is done with God consciousness.

RAJA YOGA (YOGA OF SELF-CONTROL)

Raja means associated with royalty. In other words, it is KING OF YOGA. It is based on teachings of the EIGHT LIMBS OF Yoga which is based on YOGA SUTRAS. In this, A Yogi considers self as a central to all and thus considers animate and inanimate the same – no difference in living and non-living things. If you wish to learn discipline, then Raja Yoga would perfectly suit that need.

JNANA YOGA (YOGA OF THE MIND)

Jnana Yoga is related with the mind and therefore its focus is on intelligence of a person. Here Yogis lay more emphasis on wisdom and intellect and try integrate the two so that it works for the self optimally. Also Jnana Yogis are after knowledge, they acquire the knowledge from any source or religions because they work on the principle that knowledge could be gleaned from any sources – religions and philosophies. It is universal in nature. Jnana Yoga proponents are rational in their approach for getting knowledge and thus believe that in order to get connectivity with a SINGLE ONE any path or any religion could be followed. Religion or caste or creed is not limiting factor in acquiring knowledge.

TANTRA YOGA OR YOGA OF RITUALS

Tantra yoga deals with head and heart. While pursuing tantra yoga one has to have the quality of purity of mind, devotion, humility, love etc. Here some rituals are observed for obtaining benefit for the body, mind and spirit.

There are still a lot of misconceptions about yoga, for instance, yoga being a religion. Yoga is not a religion. It is more of a set of techniques for us to find spirituality. In fact, yoga is being practiced by a lot of people from different religions and benefiting from doing this.

Another misconception is that yoga is merely an exercise, a way for us to keep fit. It is partly true, but if you think that yoga is just that then you are greatly mistaken. Yoga develops the body since a weak one is a hindrance to spiritual growth. It does not simply focus on the physical but on the mental and spiritual aspects as well.

BENEFITS OF YOGA

Ban Ki-moon has rightly said:

“Yoga does not discriminate…all people can practise, regardless of their relative strength, age or ability.”

• Regularly performing Yogic exercises can provide us immunity to our body and can keep us resistant against germs and viruses since it brings our body in harmony with Nature. It gives balance of body, mind and soul.
• Yoga enhances our memory since we undertake Yogic exercises with huge concentration.
• Yoga instills discipline in the Yogi.
• Yoga is a scientific method which unites soul with the Super Soul (God) – we rise above delusion and reunite with our Creator.
• It enhances our concentration through focus on the omniscient spiritual eye (between the two eyebrows) thereby memory.
• It controls our stress and strain thus we can function perfectly since we learn how to keep our mind under control besides controlling our emotions which keep us adversely affected.
• As in Yoga, we give more credence to ‘self’, we can thereby can attain self realization first and subsequently God-realization.
• Breathing control ensures sound metabolic process of our body thus we have proper circulation of blood besides all the internal organs like heart, liver, lungs including all abdominal organs of our body function in fine fettle because of this regulated breathing and exercises.
• Meditation in rigorous and with focused manner ensures that we move forward spiritually with a view to connect with our Lord/Creator in a disciplined way. It should always be remembered that systematic meditation makes a true Yogi.
• Yoga helps us in facing challenges of life boldly and with equanimity.
• Yoga helps us to imbibe the trait of love and acceptance for everything and everybody.
• Yogic exercises through various postures enhances our self control thus self confidence because of opening the door of intuitive consciousness – sixth sense which makes it possible to anticipate the coming events!
• While highlight is on self (as is done in Raja Yoga), it enhances the Yogi’s self esteem and self control besides enhancing self reliance in everything a Yogi ventures.

A TRIBUTE TO A FATHER 21ST JUNE 2020 IS THE FATHER’S DAY

A TRIBUTE TO A FATHER 21ST JUNE 2020 IS THE FATHER’S DAY

front
back
MY FATHER WAS A WORLD WAR I VETERAN

A male-parent of  the children

With profusion in parental love and affection

A male biological contributor of the infant’s creation

Possessing with it, all legal and social relationships

Besides, male parent carries certain rights and with it obligations

Even the step-father or adoptive father too has certain compulsions

To bestow upon the child the right kind upbringing under the circumstances

Care the child as their own – like a father-figure to be concise

Give child the right dose of value system right away required

Including all support system which is woefully needed

For upbringing the offspring in the best possible way wanted

For which paternal and maternal love are of paramount value though

For overall growth and development of the child

Thus taking care of physical and mental health

So that the child adjusts well in the society in which the child is living

Thus steering clear from the difficult situations which may arise without any warning

Fatherly pat quenches the inquisitive thirst of their children

And the children come to know about the world around them

Father’s guidance brings our journey back on the right track

And save children not to go astray

And save them from sure off-track movements

Father’s soft touch is as good as the hard one

Since these touches are for ensuring the children’s wellness. .

I had all the attention from my mother and father alike

Those years were really very impressionable

When both of them were there with us.

My father, a World War 1st Veteran

Who donned his uniform for the land of his birth

In his lifetime had seen ups and downs

During his active service tenure in armed forces

He gave credence to the idea of ‘duty first’

With utmost dedication and devotion which were the hallmark

The traits of which were transferred to me in plenty

My father too faced many a tragedies

Three of his brothers had accidental deaths

But faced every difficulty with resilience and courage

Determined that such tragedies should not put us in fear

He taught us that fear should not make us weak but faced with courage and determination

He practiced Ayurveda to cure his rural patients as a social service

So that cure could be bestowed to the ones who needed it the most

He actively participated in many a social causes

In whatever manner it was possible for him

With the limited resources he had that time

He nurtured us with the best diet he could afford

Inculcated positive outlook on life

As to how to face challenges which visit without much warning

Infused positive outlook on life in us

Even at the discouraging irritants

Which may visit us without any prior inklings

He taught us how to face up to any situation

Which he himself followed assiduously till his last day

While on his death bed at the ripe of age of Ninety SEVEN

When I was studying only in class SEVEN

Whilst anticipated that his end was so near

He called us near him with a smile

Gave four gems of advices which we still follow most conscientiously

Never interfere in others’ affairs unreasonably

Never be afraid of life’s challenges which may visit you suddenly

Never be reactive to anything that may happen with much warning

And finally always follow the dictum

The winner is the one who follows the Absolute Truth.

Subsequently, he breathed his last

With two tears flowing from his eyes

And God’s names on his tongue

Which I vividly remember even now

That is the TRIBUTE TO MY DEAR FATHER

AND may be to every father.

SIGNIFICANCE OF IMMUNITY

SIGNIFICANCE OF IMMUNITY

REMAINING DETERMINED TO SWIM EVEN IN TROUBLED WATERS

while Coronavirus is spreading its tentacles
In the absence of immunity
Causing deaths, destruction and untold misery
Along with it; Alas! all gloom, doom and mortality
People perforce are locking themselves at homes
Looking for medical community
For finding a vaccine for topping of vicious circle
Of the spread of this dangerous virus
Spreading without any bias
Leaving none which comes its way
Loves to attack people with obesity or hypertension
Especially people with low immune system
Kids, young men and people grown old
All this is creating a poser in our mind
Is there herd immunity to the spread?
Which is so widespread
And also creating a dread
As to when this virus will end.
The infection mutates faster
When our immune system is weaker
Damaging the functioning of our body
Including the lung tissues
While our immune system is stronger
Its response is limited or no effect at all
By bringing about a healthy balance to our body
Firstly on physical plane is keeping healthy
By taking proper exercises and also Yogic exercises
Also, by strict isolation, social distancing
Besides quarantine measures needed
Taking sufficient water quantity
And diet rich in necessary vitamins
With sufficiency of sunlight where we live
With fresh air and well ventilated place for living
All these provides healthy balance in our life
And with it makes our system resistant to any virus.
While our mind is hugely stressed
With too much thought of contracting infection
Along with financial stringency
Resulting from loss of job opportunity
Which throws our internal defenses awry
With thi, our immune system gets imbalanced
Keeping a healthy balance
Both in ups and downs in our lives is the answer
To the mental sturdiness which helps to fight virus.
We should not go overdrive
In expression of our emotions
Through reactions
In the form of frustration,
Fear, anger boredom, disharmony and depression
We ought to stop acting as victim in any situation
But rather should have a balanced approach
In seeing an opportunity in virus conditions too
And feel joy in the company of our love ones
Thereby consolidating our bonds in relations
By being in lockdown situations.
Bereft of any faith, self-belief and belief on God
Our immune system gets ruined
Thereby picking all sorts of viruses which comes our path
With belief in our system and our Almighty God
Makes a huge difference to our system
Thus rather than losing hope in any condition
We ought to have hope even in hopeless situation
And seek connect with Omnipotent and Omniscient One
With whose graces we can weather any storm
Thereby lead a life so happier
With a lot of immunity to fight any virus
Which may attack us.

SIGNIFICANCE OF IMMUNITY

Literally immunity means to offer resistance from the germs of a disease or to be invulnerability from ill-effects of some bad influences or to confront or fight bad influences. This is a positive influence on our system which keeps us away from divergent or contradictory situations and conditions.

While we relate immunity with our body system, we consider it a inbuilt defense mechanism which our body offers. The body immunity could be inbuilt in our body due to our DNA and also acquired too.

The acquired ones are due to the following aspects:-

EFFECTS OF DIET

A healthy diet starts from our childhood itself. Breastfeeding brings in its wake better growth of our body and have positive influence on our growth.

It is found that eating sufficient vegetable, fresh fruits and dry fruits along with milk products provides us vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre and also provides antioxidants. Also, those who take diets rich in vegetables and fruits have lower rate of obesity, heart disease, diabetes. Besides, these also keep us away from viruses. Eating vegetable unsaturated oils help in building immunity. We should take less sugar and fat contents since these are responsible for creating obesity and hypertension.

CONTROL OVER THE MIND AND IMMUNITY

Our emotions are caused due to our thoughts. It goes to show that two individuals can exhibit different reaction in the similar situation. One person may feel angry on a small pretext whereas other could have control over his emotions and have the traits of letting go. Therefore, those who have control over the senses and mind exhibit positive emotions.  Then there are emotions such as frustration, boredom, depression, anxiety and disgust etc. Those who have control over the mind weather all storm and stay cool in any situation and condition. A resolute and determined mindset give out positivity at all times and hence possess rock-solid immunity. Therefore, those who have control over the mind, possess better immunity. The anxieties related with Coronavirus could affect a person with weaker resolve.

SPIRITUAL  ORIENTATION IN LIFE AND IMMUNITY

Those people who are spiritually inclined, possess self-belief and belief in Almighty God. Such people have indomitable faith in God and seek connectivity with Him and perform all their Karmic deeds with positive disposition. They do not give too much credence to outcome but perform the action with complete focus. It has been observed that spiritual oriented people are self-determined and face the situations and conditions resolutely. Thus with meditations and prayers, we can enhance our immunity.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE THOUGHTS IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE THOUGHTS IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION

We are what our thoughts have made us so take care about what you think, words are secondary. Thoughts live, they travel far. Swami Vivekananda

What we think happens, if our thoughts are positive, then we can put those thoughts into practice but if we transact such an act without  much worries about the outcome then we can focus more on our action – since if our thoughts are positive then results will always be good. In any event, if results are not to our liking, then, there is always a second chance. But we should not fritter our energies in thinking about results only. We should always keep in mind that positive thoughts are precursor of positive outcome.

Pessimist complaints about the wind, the optimistic expects it to change, the realist adjusts the sails. William Arthur Ward

We term ourselves as positive ones when we believe that something will come out fine even when we are in dire straits. Only thing we can come out of the difficult situation is by remaining positive despite hardships. For instance, in the current situation of Novel Coronavirus Pandemic there are people who are hugely worried about the infection, though, in fact such  people may or may not come in contact with already infected person(s). This unreasonable worry about infection or any other incident may cause more problem than the actual infection itself since by turning us negative thereby impacting our internal defences mechanism.

Alternatively, a person with positive frame of mind, even though getting infection through somebody does not fear but does everything possible to come out of infection – remains sanitized and isolated with positive orientation will be cured quickly without much negative effect on his system. Therefore, it is in the fitness of things to remain positive despite negative situation.

A NEGATIVE ORIENTED PERSON FEELS HOPELESS EVEN IN  MOST CRITICAL SITUATIONS

It should never be forgotten that to overcome a difficult situation is to pass through that situation nonetheless. If we remain fearing about the coronavirus pandemic and keep totally away from our essential duties, then surely, we may escape from the virus but may ensnare os in still more calamitous situation. The idea should be to keep in mind, nothing remains permanent.

In life, we have ups and downs and life itself is a test. Sometimes we fail and sometimes we pass but it hardly means we should leave hope. Challenges are there to be faced and not feared. Fear to face challenges of life will bring us still more fears. This will also pass should be the buzz word.

On the other hand, if a person always gets jittery when placed in inappropriate situation and condition, it goes to show that such a person has accepted failure. A negative oriented person always has the negative thoughts. He is doubter or fishy and sees conspiracy in everything under the sun.

Wisdom, compassion and courage are the three universally recognized morally recognized qualities of a man. George S. Patton

In life, we want only good things and not otherwise then we are living in fools paradise. Good and bad are the opposite sides of the same coin. If we want only one-side and ignore the opposite one then, sure enough, we cannot live life purposefully. Though everybody wants to have happiness but for happiness to happen, we have to experience ups and downs of our lives as life is not always bed of roses.

TRAITS OF A POSITIVE ORIENTED PERSON

  • Atam Bodh or self-awareness is important wherein we know our potentials and shortcomings. These shortcoming could be eliminated by our positive thoughts and attitudes.
  • Never gives up even in any situations and conditions with determination.
  • Such a person creates appropriate environment wherever he/she goes.
  • Sees hope in even hopeless situation and condition.
  • Faces challenges of life with positive orientation.
  • When such a person fails due to some reason, he/she does not feel let down but tries again. He/she failure as an experience.
  • Positive person is a KARMA YOGI. Such a person knows what to think and when to act without any fear of challenges.
  • Positive attitude provides us wherewithal’s or way out to come out of any difficult problem.
  • If we follow spiritual oriented existence, then surely, we can find out way out even in dire situation in which we fall ourselves.

A person who says that he wants a problem free life is living in fool’s paradise.

Swami Vivekananda has rightly said: In a day, when you do not come across any problem – you can be sure that you are travelling in a wrong path. Swami Vivekananda.

TRAITS OF A NEGATIVE ORIENTED PERSON

  • Has the attitude of ‘I cannot’  – have the unreasonable fears engulfing always.
  • Have no guts to try. Such a person is lost in his/her own negative thoughts and does not even try.
  • Such a person does not take any initiative to come out of the rut of negativity.
  • Such a person is weak in willpower and worse still does not even venture to think of a situation to come out of the self-created situation.
  • Never sees light at the end of a tunnel. Only sees the darkness at the nooks and corners.
  • Never face challenges of life. Challenges for such a person are brickbats – reason enough to keep away from action.
  • If he/she fails, he/she loses courage to try again. This brings about the downfall of the person concerned.
  • He is a not a KARMA YOGI but does not want to follow such traits. A person with negative oriented existence does not think and act positively.
  • Such a person is egocentric. If the individual concerned is able to do something out of the box, he/she feels as if everything is happening due to him/her.
  • Such a person does not believe in the dictum: ‘Pride hath a fall’ since such a person is bereft of self-belief.
  • Essentially, a negative oriented person’s mind drags him downward, away from truth thus cannot partake what exists inside of us.
