LEARNING FROM THE EXPEPRIENCES OF OTHERS
BEING OUR OWN SELVES WHILE LEARNING FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCES.
In life, many of us go on comparing with others. While doing so, we sometimes imitate others traits to showcase ou class and stature, even having influences of others oftentime in conflict with the personal traits of our own. This way the we are neither here nor there – not understanding our own self nor fully knowing the others whose traits we imitate. This is a fallacy since we are living a life according to others. While we live as per the dictates of others, we become a split personality. Being split personality, having more than one personality, distinct one. Dissimilar personality traits means divergence in thoughts and actions. Divergence in thoughts and actions can prove counterproductive and injurious to the overall wellness of individuals concerned.
IMITATING OTHERS PROVES INAPPROPRIATE IN THE LONG RUN
While we have the tendency to imitate others, it means we do not know our own self fully. It goes to show that we should not compare ourselves with others. Every individual is created differently by our Creator, therefore, everybody is unique in every way. An individual could be introvert or extrovert, silent worker or talkative or expressive, easy going or complex personality, simple or fastidious, greedy or judicious, narcissistic or selfless sincere or insincere, virtuous/righteous or dishonest etc. We have to live our own life and according to our own situations and conditions and not as per others point of views. We have to live our own life according to our own way of living suiting us.
What we actually should know and if something negative is found, this negativity should be eradicated from our system without much delay or hesitation, This would be in sync with our own personality trait, if we do not know about our own self then we cannot understand others. For this to be possible, first of all, we have to delve deep into our own self and consciously try to know our potentials and drawbacks. Even our habits, attitudes, working styles are different. Therefore, comparing ourselves with others or imitating others proves futile in the long run. What we are should be acceptable to us and live accordingly. Today I received a call from Bangalore, a total stranger, who wanted me to invest money in the market so as to earn money from the market which is giving good return from our investment. But I refused saying that whatever I get from my sincere and earnest earning will bestow me satiety and security in the long run. I shall not be affected by the pulls and pressures of the market, therefore, I refused to invest. Though, the person concerned tried every strategy; pampering me or pulling me down etc. yet I remained steadfast in not investing in the uncertain market. Furthermore, the person concerned was not known to me, therefore, I desisted from investing in the market since the market could have downward trend due to Covid-19 thus losing my hard earned money. I am sure this sort of a feeling comes when we know our own self and do not have greed for more money and that too when the situation and condition is uncertain. This feeling comes when we know our own self.
There are people, who due to their hard work. achieve unparalleled success in life while there are the ones who just daydream but want to attain something good without working hard. Is it possible? Not at all? We can only feel jealous. Or maybe, feel comparing with the person concerned. In both the cases, we should never forget that nothing is achieved without persistence, perseverance, industriousness, etc. If experience is any guide, we have to delve deep into our own self will unravel everything about the reservoir of potentials we possess.
INFUSING CONCOFENNCE THUS EVAPORATING INFERIORITY COMPLEX
How we change ourselves after finding some drawback in our habits and attitude pays dividends in the long run. By doing so, we can go to our inner self and adapt accordingly. This change and adjusting to the situations and conditions pays off in the long run. Acting thus, we can infuse confidence in us which helps in evaporating inferiority complex from us. We are in fact wronged by our own thoughts and actions proving that we do more to ourselves by our own omissions and commissions than others. There we have to orient ourselves according to the demand of time. Realizing our uniqueness, being our own self, we can lead our life according to our own terms rather than following somebody else.
LEARNING FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCES
It is not that being our own self does not stop us from learning from others experiences but this learning has to be done with utmost circumspection lest we are duped by the external influences rather than intrinsic value of that experience. Oftentime we are taken in the external pump and show but real picture remains concealed till such time we get the exact state of affairs. Therefore, this external false impressions influences us doing more harm than good.
EVEN NATURE CAN TEACH US GOOD LESSONS IF WE CARE TO LEARN
It is not merely from the individuals’ experiences from whom we can learn, we can learn even from Mother Nature. These could be from animals, plants, water bodies etc. The faithful displayed by dogs and other pets can teach us to remain faithful and sincere to our well meaning people. The river could teach us to maintain flow despite hurdles posed by rocky surface etc. The fragrance of flowers could teach us to not to leave our sweetness while interacting other others. The plants give us fresh air besides helping. Plants not only help in giving us fresh air but also help to prevent soil erosion and climate control besides proving us fodder, dyes and wood for making furniture etc. The plants can teach us many a lessons to us since every part of trees are useful for us and that too without expectations from others, we can also be useful for others too. The sunshine is life-giving. We can also be sun-shine for the needy.
All of us can also learn from the birds. They soar in the air irrespective of its speed. This quality of courage could be imbibed by us too. Ecen flowers can teach us much if we care to learn from them. We can weather all storms. For this to be possible, we have to have experience first and then have courage to initiate any action.
