HAPPY KRISHNA JANAMASHTHAMI

HAPPY KRISHNA JANAMASTHAMI

OUR MOST LOVELY LADU GOPAL JI

Lord Vishnu is the cause of creation and He incarnated as Krishna to eliminate demonic forces prevalent in the society at large. It has rightly been said that God is omnipotent and omniscient besides He possesses innumerable names: Lord-Allaha-Rama-Krishna-Jehova-Budha-Akalpurakh but Truly speaking; He is the ONE. He has personal and impersonal aspects. To exemplify this; a drop of water has the same chemical and physical properties as water from huge reservoir of water. One or Many hardly makes any difference. Our body which we love the most is impermanent. Our soul and the Super Soul are permanent. It does not die with the death of the body. God incarnations and saints’ lives which have been enumerated in different scriptures have made it amply clear about the importance of God Consciousness through their discourses and other mystic actions, remain inspiring us humans. Such is the importance of incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Krishna. As per scriptural knowhow, whenever there is prevalence of evil, the Lord Vishnu incarnates to destroy the evil doers and establish the natural law with peace and tranquility besides to establish the prevalence of Dharma and eliminate Adharama.

LORD VISHNU INCARNATES WHEN THERE IS EXCESSIVE PEVALANCE OF EVIL

‘Yada yada hi dharmasya
glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya
tadatmanam srjamy aham’

WHY INCARNATION BY LORD VISHNU
?

When prevalence of evil is at its worst
When irreligious & immoral rule the roost
When there is no respect
For hpholding the principles of natural justice
When voices of righteous souls are gagged with force
When human rights and values are overlooked woefully
When ignorant are rewarded only
When people with sagacity are ignored willfully
When people are disgruntled colossally
When people without moral conduct are respected unduly
When egocentric tendencies are pampered fully
When even blood relations are imprisoned by their own offspring unreasonably
When divinity and spirituality lose its sheen
When saintly advices are not paid any heed
When arrogance is allowed to fester
When commoners are put to shame by their masters
And forced to submit to their whims
Thus forced Tthem not to pray Omnipotent and Omniscient
When seers’ Yajna are defiled to much extent
By throwing rubbish and filth on the fires so sacred
When sages and opposition voices are muted arrogantly
When even just-born kids are done to death mindlessly
Because of fear of these children
Growing and becoming a cause of their own death
When general masses are uncared
And left at the mercy of evil marauders
Thence our Lord Vishnu descends from His Abode Vaikuntha
And incarnates for destroying the evil from the world at large
In order to deliver the pious and the virtuous
Thus He annihilates the evil which has made a residency
As irreligious and unreasonable ones; wolves in the sheep’s clothings
Thus re-establish the principles, of morality and fair-play.

This most auspicious event happened at the stroke of midnight
At Ashtami Tithi with Rohini Nakshtra that night
Something quite mystic happened
There appeared Lord Vishnu dressed in shining attire
And carrying His weapons including Sudharshan Chakra
In the imprisonment of evil King Kamsa
On request from mother – Devaki & father – Vasudeva
He turned Himself as a baby to be hidden from evil Kamsa
This way, the birth of Krishna took place in Yadu dynasty
Kamsa knew in his heart of hearts, really
That nobody can undo the purpose of Lord Vishu incarnation
Since the will of God always prevails on all occasions.

Lo and behold, the violent and vigilant guards remained in deep sleep
Oblivious what transpired in the guarded dungeon just nearby
Whilst heavy downpour made the Yamuna fully swollen
Vasudeva put the baby Krishna in a basket on his head
With Sheshnag providing a shelter from rain
Yamuna swelled still further on
Wishing to touch the feet of the Supreme Lord
Then Krishna offered His Divine Feet for Yamuna’s touch.

After reaching Nandgaon
Vasudeva exchanged the baby Krishna
Brought back Yashoda’s daughter named Yogmaya
He was back to his prison cell without being noticed by anyone.

At Nandagaon, Krishna performed many of His Mystic plays of Leelas – unique ones
Showed His mystical prowess at Mathura and finally at Dwaraka
He mesmerized Gopis with His flute play– at the musical best
Attracting even the cows herds in hoards.

Gayatri Mantra was initiated to the Krishna by Guru Gargamuni
And Vedic arts and sciences by Guru Sandipanimuni
At Mathura He killed many demons
To ward off the demons threats
Thus stopping threat looming large
Of many a ferocious demons.

DEPICTION OF CHILDHOOD DAYS THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

During His childhood days
And thereafter during his life time
His role as destroyer of evil is well-known to everybody
Mahabharta epic provides us the testimony.

He married many queens
Rukimni being the most beautiful one
Love of Radha & Krishna is etched in folklores
Will ever remain in our memories till ages
As the pious Love of Divines.

Lord Krishna acted as a Charioteer of Arjuna
The greatest archer (dhanushdhari) of all times
Was the role of His in the Kurukshtra war!

Where Lord Krishna displayed His stupendous Universal Form
When Arjuna was in doubt to fight war
Against kith and kin of his own
Then the Supreme Lord delivered His famed Bhagavad Gita
“The Song of God”
Containing essence of Jnana
All encompassing knowledge – Gyana.

In the war that ensued
Evil doers met their doom
Thus had the results of their wicked karmic deeds
Proving that bad Karma leads to bad end
And with them the wickedness that pervaded,
Thus Kamsa met his death at the hands of Lord Krishna
A victory of good over evil was ensured
A lasting lesson for us mortals to follow indeed
May Lord Krishna’s blessings be showered on all of us
By gracing us with wisdom
And spread the message of goodness for us mortals.

LORD VISHNU & LORDESS LAKSHMI

The birthday of Sri Krishna is celebrated every year. As per the astrological calculations and scriptural details, the date of Krishna’s birth, which is known as Janamashtami is 18 July 3228 BCE. Lord Krishna lived upto 18th February 3102 BCE. He is the 8th Avtar of Lord Vishnu. This festival is celebrated on the 8th day of Krishna Paksha (dark night) between the months of August – September every year.

LOVELY LADDU GOPAL

Krishna belonged to the Yadu dynasty descending from Soma. He was the 8th son of Princess Devaki and Vasudeva (son of Surasena). Krishna was carried across the River Yamuna by Vasudeva after his birth in the confinement of Kamsa.

Krishna Janmashtami has been variously described as: Krishnashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Shrikrishna Jayanti, Sri Jayanti, Krishna Janma, Gokulashtami, Sri Krishna Jayanti, etc.

Lord Krishna Himself has enunciated in Bhagwad Gita that whenever there is excessive evil/sin in the society; when there is prominence of repressive and regressive forces besides prevalence of irreligious practices, He appears on this planet to eliminate evil thus minimize the scourge of evil from the society besides protecting the pious and righteous people. His form may be different in different ages but He takes birth or incarnates and shows the right course to the people at large with His thoughts and actions.

OUR DEAREST MAKHAN CHOR❤❤🧡💛💥

THE BIRTH OF LORD KRISHNA IS LACED IN MYSTICISM

After the marriage ceremonies, while Kamsa was taking his sister Devaki and brother-in-law Vasudeva in the cheriat, he felt very happy. There is a custom of brother accompanying the married sister to her in-laws home. The procession was passing merrily while Kamsa was driving the chariot. The atmosphere was surcharged with joyous/ecstasy.

As ill luck would have it, there was a prophecy from the sky: “Kamsa, you are such a fool! You are driving the chariot of your sister and your brother-in-law, but you do not know that the 8th child of your sister will kill you.“. Kamsa was dumbfounded and could not control his anger and therefore wanted to kill Devaki (the daughter of Devaka) but Vasudeva intervened and promised that they will give all their newborn children to Kamsa after their births and agreed to stay in his jail cell. They were thus imprisoned under the supervision of guards. Vasudeva also commented that Kamsa being a greatest warrior and should not kill his own sister. He also told Kamsa that we are dying every moment that passes and death is evitable for the one who is born. Thus he pacified Kamsa through his (Vasudeva’s) flattery.

Afterwards, Kamsa imprisoned his own father (Ugrasena) and declared himself as the King besides usurping the power of King Surasena (Vasudeva’s father). He expanded his power to other parts too through his prowess.
Subsequently, first six children of Devaki and Vasudeva were killed by King Kamsa sooner they were born after the news of their birth was conveyed to him. While Kamsa’s relatives and friends tried to dissuade him from doing so but he did not listen to anyone. Then there was a news of miscarriage of seventh child but actually seventh child was transferred to Rohini as Balarama – just secretly – a Mystical potency of God.

LORD VISHNU INCARNATES WHEN THERE IS A PREVALANCE OF EVIL

AN ATMOSPHERE OF PEACE ON THE BIRTH OF KRISHNA

When Krishna was born, there was an atmosphere of peace, auspicious stars were visible in the sky besides there were all positive signs. The demigods were very pleased and began to shower flowers. Then Lord Vishnu appeared before Devaki and she felt very elated. Vasudeva was also very happy after seeing the shine on the face of the newborn – such opulence and effulgence. The demigods had already informed them that Supreme Personality of Godhead would be born from the womb of Devaki. He was really convinced that the newborn was the Godhead Himself. Vasudeva began to offer prayers. He was of the firm belief that now Kamsa will get justice for his sinful acts. He thus prayed and requested Him to save them from the hands of Kamsa. Devaki requested Him to take the form of an ordinary child so that no harm is done to him.

MYSTERIES OF KRISHNA’S JOURNEY FROM MATHURA TO GOKULA

IMAGE OF VISHNU

Afterwards, a mystic thing happened, all the prison locks got opened, all the guards slept and there was a heavy rain. On the birth of eighth child, Lord Vishnu ordained that the child be taken to Gokula to Nanda and Yashoda. There upon, Vasudeva took infant Krishna with him, crossed the river Yamuna and reached Gokul. After leaving infant child at Gokula, he brought back Yashoda’s daughter named Yogmaya back to his prison cell. Due to the grace of Lord Vishnu, nothing went amiss. The birth of Krishna, and activities are all transcendental and one who understands it is spiritually rich person. His birth is according to His time and place besides the need of such an eventuality. Even the planetary systems were adjusted auspiciously at the time of Krishna’s birth.

Foster father Nanda Baba and mother Yashoda of Lord Krishna were very happy while they were celebrating the birth of their newborn son with great pump and show. There was an atmosphere of joy everywhere. Yashoda always thought Krishna as her dear son and not anything else – they all enjoyed the childhood pastimes of Krishna thereafter.

The news of the 8th child was given to Kamsa. While Kansa was about to kill Yogmaya, she vanished from his hands and thundered that his killer was in Gokula and warned about his looming death. Thereupon, Kamsa sent his various ferocious demons to kill Krishna who were all killed by Krishna.

KAMSA’S PERSECUTION RECKLESSNESS STARTS

RADHEY SHM

Kamsa comes to know about the birth of 8th child and further information that he is taken to Gokula made him furious. He got exasperated and lamented; now the cruel death will not be far away he thought. Yet he wanted to do everything in order to eliminate the child.

IMPORTANCE OF CELEBRATION OF BIRTHDAYS

Significantly, the celebration of birthdays for everybody is a must since it reminds us not only our self-worth but also we realize the purpose of our lives. It also gives us realization how much our friends our relatives and other well-wishers love us. We reciprocate in the same measure the wishes and wellness showered on this day for us. Therefore, it is not only the birthdays of Messengers of God we should celebrate but also of ourselves, friends and relatives.

NEED OF INCARNATIONS

CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF LORD KRISHNA BESTOWS US JOY & STIETY

The demons kings were very harsh in their behavior towards their subjects. They inflicted all sorts of punishments on them including not allowing them to worship their deities and carrying out various rituals as enshrined in the scriptures. The demon kings wanted that people should obey them, pray them and remain slave to them. All this and more hardships made the world at large troubled spot. This necessitated and impelled deity of earth – Mother Earth (Bhumi) to go to the Lord Brahma in Brahmaloka with tears in her eyes to reduce the burden of evil doers and the heinous sins being perpetrated by the demons from the earth. Lord Bhrahma, Lord Shiva along with all Demi Gods accompanied Mother Earth for invoking Lord Vishnu to come to their succor. All prevailed upon Lord Vishnu to appear as the son of Vasudeva and all other Demi Gods to appear on the Mother Earth in different forms to assist Lord Vishnu in His new Avtar in one form or the other.

LIGHT TO REMOVE DARKNESS : LOVE & DARKNESS

Kamsa sent Putana who was known for killing small children by her sinful methods, to kill child Krishna. Krishna killed her after suckling her breast.

King Kamsa sent demon named Trnavarta with mystic powers. He was eliminated by Krishna without much difficulty.

• A demon named Bakasura attacked him and his cowherd friends. Krishna killed him.

• Serpent Aghasura was killed after playful acts of Krishna and his friends with him.

• Dhenukasura attacked Krishna and his gops. He killed the demon.

• Demon Pralambasura sent by King Kamsa was killed by Lord Krishna.

• Demon Kesi in the form of a horse was killed by Krishna.

• While visting Mathura, Lord Krishna killed the wrestler named Canura by hurling him to the ground while wrestling.

OUR DEAREST BANSRI WALA

• Finally Lord Krishna dragged the demoniac King Kamsa and threw him on the ground, struck im with His fist repeatedly and killed him. That was the end of the evil along with Demon King.

WHAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC DO ON THIS PIOUS DAY

Devout keep fast on this day and remain awake till midnight at the time when Krishna was believed to have born. The image of Krishna as an infant is kept on the cradle or swing both at homes and temples and everyone wants to have a dharshan makes the swing to move. This is considered an auspicious thing.

Devotees sing songs and make merry besides exchanging gifts and flowers. In temples satsang and puja is also held.

Janamashtmi is celebrated differently In different parts of India. In Maharashtra, Dehihandi is celebrated where buttermilk is kept in a pot and kept at a convenient height. Different parties try to break this earthen pot so as to win this contest. This event is undertaken to remember the event of stealing of buttermilk by Krishna in his childhood from Gopi’s homes. The participants in this event are called Govindas.

In Mathura (the birth place of Krishana), Gokul and Vrindavan the festival is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm. People gather in large number and offer their prayers to Him. Even in Dwarka in Gujarat where Krishna established his kingdom, people visit Dwarkadish temple. Bhagavata Purana, the part dealing with the pastimes of Krishna are recited besides offerings of betel, fruits, flowers etc done by the devotees.

Gokulashtami is celebrated with great fervor in South India too. In Tamil Nadu, the people decorate the floor with kolams (decorative pattern drawn with rice batter).

Besides Lord Krishna’s mysticism and Leelas are always enjoyed by the devotees.

• Lord Krishna dance upon the heads of the serpent Kaliya thereafter Kaliya realized his mistake.

• Protected the people from the heavy rains on the village Vrindavan by lifting Govardhan hill on his little finger.

• Rasa Lila (Dance) with gopis at Vrindavana to the tune of the flute.

It is very vividly in Bhaghwad Gita that those who know about the birth, His appearance and all activities of Lord Krishna become eligible to be transferred to spiritual world. JAI SHRI KRISHNA. For this to become reality we have to be Krishna Conscious.

Bhagwad Gita discourse which Lord krishana had with Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra (A DHANUSHDHARI OF REPUTE) enlightens us with the following besides other things:

• You have the right to work but never to the fruit of the work. You should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should you long for inaction.

• Whatever happened, happened for the good, whatever is happening is happening for the good and whatever will happen will happen for the good.

• Change is the law of universe, you can be millionaire in an instant or a pauper in an instant.

• The soul is eternal.

• You came empty handed and will leave empty handed when you die.

• Lust, anger and greed are the three the gates to self-destructive hell.

• Man is made by his belief, as he believes, so he becomes.

• When meditation is mastered the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place.

• Doubts are our enemies.

• We are kept from our goal not by obstacles, but by a clear path to lower goal.

• We are all one since all are God’s creations.

• Let go off attachment – our attachment to the worldly possessions is the cause of miseries.

• Give without expecting anything in return.

• Man is his own friend or enemy by his karmic deed or misdeed.

• Steadiness equipped with Yoga one controls the mind.

• A person can attain supreme state of freedom from the karma by self-control, and disregard for the material possessions.

• It is better to do one’s own duty better, even though it may be below our merits which we actually deserve.

• The five factors of our actions are: place of action, the doer, the sense organs, numerous efforts and the divine law which govern all other factors.

HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN

RAKSHA BANDHAN

Raksha means an act of safeguarding or bestowing protection
Bandhan means relation or connection
While both get united
Becomes Raksha Bandan
An ordinary twine becomes the medium
Thus putting an indelible stamp to cement the relationship
Between brother and sister affection.

Rich in cultural traditions despite some turmoils
India with its wide-ranging festivals
Keeps reminding our general public
Of the importance of the festivals so sacred
Based sometimes by changed seasons
Or some blessed religious occasions
Other times based purely on human emotions
Whilst there is a need to revive relationships.

The RAKSHA BANDHAN is the festival, so dearest
Where sister ties the sacred thread around her brother’s wrist
Which is held in the Hindu month of Shravan or Bhadon
Witnessed by the auspicious full moon from the Heaven
Profuse with sisterly adulation
And awe-inspiring sentiment of brotherly affection
A festival of deep bond of emotion
Wherein a brother promises protection
Of his sister from any danger unforeseen
An ultimate ‘bond of protection’ nonetheless unwritten
Yet this thread is not an ordinary twine
But solemn undertaking given.

DEAREST ONE PURVA TYING RAKHI TO KAVYANSH

Rakhi is not mere a knot between blood related brothers and sisters
It could be a sacred knot between neighbours
And other society members
To keep the fabric of society united
To ensure communal concord
History is replete with quite a lot of instances
Where Rajputs & Maratha queens sent Rankhis
To the Mughal kings
And won their support at the time vcritical
There is also a story of Alexander the Great’s spouse
Sending a Rakhi to King Porus
Which King Porus accepted with a huge respect
And the promise was so fulfilled
By not harming her husband
Such is the sacred Rakhi’s bond.

DEAREST ONE PURVA TYING RAKHI TO AMAY

Such is the power of this ordinary twine
It can keep even adversaries united.

O our All powerful Creator
Thee who is Omnipotent and Omniscient
Knot the world community with thy Holy Thread
So that all live in peace and concord.

RAKSHA BANDHAN (An Ordinary Twine which Unites Souls)

RAKHIS ARE BEING SOLD LIKE HOT CAKES

The word Raksha means an act of protection and Bandhan means a relation/connection/tie/bond/association. Taken together the two means a relation which ensures/bestows protection. Raksha Bandhan, in other words is a bond between brother and sister for bestowing protection to the sister whenever contingency arises – a sacred pledge that he (brother) will fulfil the promise of protection come what may. In return, the sister prays for the wellness and prosperity of her brother.

We Indians, like many in other countries of world, are fortunate to have different festivals which we celebrate with religious fervor and devotion. Festivals may be different but there is a commonality of feelings which springs out during these festivals; indeed amazing. That is the beauty which binds us together with a common Thread of Love and Care for each other.

The brother-sister relationship is really very sensitive. When brother and sister are biologically connected then they grow up together under the same roof and the parents make them understand the importance of brother-sister relationship. As the sister, after she grows up, has to leave the home and hearth of her parents, Rakhi Thread becomes a link between brother and sister to remind each other that there exists somebody to care for him/her. It is, in other words, an emotional bond/link which brings forth the memories of the past days when both brother and sister had lived and brought up together. To say the least, I opine, sisterly love is next the motherly love. A simple woven thread, self made or purchased from market with great reverence cements relationship even further between brother and sister.

Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival which highlights the importance of brother-sister relationship. Here, brother-sister may be related or biologically unrelated. In some parts of India it is simply called Rakhi festival or Rakhi Purnima (falling on full moon). Indian being a multi-cultural society, not only Hindus, it is celebrated by Sikhs, Jains etc. The sister ties a (Rakhi thread) sacred thread on the wrist of her brother and the brother in turn gives a solemn pledge or promise to the sister to come to her succor at any unforeseen eventualities. A promise which is formalized on RAKHI PURNIMA DAY. This festival falls on full moon day (Shravan Poornima) and that is why it is also called as Raksha Poornima.

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE OF RAKSHA BANDHAN

Earliest examples of a Rakhi Bandhan prayer is found in VISHNU PURAN: a prayer that Yasoda sung while tying a sacred Rakhi lucky charm on Krishna’s wrist.

May the Lord of all beings protect you,
May the One who creates, preserves and dissolves life protect thee.

Historically legend has it that Rajput queens used to send rakhi threads (a scared thread) to other neighbouring rulers in order to show their linkage or relationship and establish a bond of relationship and spread brotherly feeling amongst the neighbourhood and avoid bloodletting on small pretext or misunderstanding of any nature.

In Manabharta, Lord Krishna considered Draupati as his sister. When there was a cut on his finger while beheading Shushupal, she cuts a piece of her sari and tied it around his injured finger which was bleeding. Krishna took it as a sacred thread (RAKSHNA BANDHAN) and bestowed her protection during her ‘chir haran’ disrobing at the bidding of Prince Dharyodhana the most deceptive in his attitude and behaviour. Taking into account the sacred relationship (brother and sister), Lord Krishna bestowed her protection and did not allow her modesty to be disrobed by the irrational Dharyodhana and his brothers.

LORD GANESHA

There is a legend, Lord Ganesha had two sons named Shubh and Labh. While Ganesh’s sister came to tie a Rakhi around the wrist of Ganesh, his sons became disappointed. They wanted a sister too. Then Narda Muni came and persuaded Lord Ganesha for the same and thus created a daughter by the name of Santoshi Maa by the divine flame emerging from wives named Ridhi and Sidhi who tied Rakhi on the wrists of her brothers Shubh and Labh. There is also a legend in Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana that after Lord Vishnu won the three worlds from demon king Bali, he requested Lord Vishnu along with Maa Lakshmi to stay in his palace. This was not like by Goddess Lakshmi. She had a plan. She tied a Rakhi around the wrist of King Bali and made him his brother. When asked for a gift she asked for the freedom of Lord VISHNU and freed from the promise to live at his palace. Demon king agreed.

There is also a legend of Yama (the lord of death) and Yamuna (river). Yama, due to pre-occupation could not visit her for 12 long years. She told Ganga for the same. Gangaji mentioned this to Lord Yama. He visited his sister thereafter. Yama was very happy to see his brother after a long time; prepared tasty food for him. On asking for a gift, she extracted a promise that he should visit her year after year. This too is connected with Rakshna Bandhan.

Some of the salient features of RAKSHA BANDHAN are given below”-

• Raksha Bandhan signifies the love and affection between brother and sister – an emotional link which solidifies the relationship between the two blood-related or otherwise.

• Brother promises to protect her sister and come to her succor whenever called for besides giving a suitable gift for his sister as a token of love.

RAKSHA BANDHAN IS THE FESTIVAL OF LOVE

• At the time of tying the knot of sacred thread parents, grand-parents and other members of the family ritualistically gather to shower their blessings on brother-sister at a spot where sister ties knot of Rakhi to her brother and pray for their well-being and prosperity. Tying of knot of a Rakhi is done in a ceremony by lighting a earthen wick or a candle in a shallow plate. Sister applies tilak or tikka on the forehead of her brother and then ties Rakhi. The purpose of lighting a wick is for sanctification of RAKSHA BANDHAN in presence of Fire God. Brother gives her gifts and promises to protect her whenever there is a need. Subsequently, the sister prays for the wellbeing and prosperity of her brother. Some sing religious songs in connection with Rakhi festival.

• The sister prays to God for the safety and prosperity of his brother.

• A sacred thread, in the form of Rakhi thread, cements a bond between brother and sister thus establishes goodwill and emotional bond between them two.

• Most importantly, when brother-sister love is affirmed outside the biological relationship then it will enhance inter-faith cohesion and fellow feelings between different castes, religions etc. This practice persisted in the past and is prevalent now as well. Raksha Bandhan evokes feeling of love, respect, and a sense of protection and also engenders a feeling of togetherness between different religions.

• Then there is a practice of sending Rakhi threads made by the school children to the soldiers guarding the borders who could not be with their sisters because of their emergent commitments. These soldiers will naturally feel elated and emotionally suffused by this sacred gesture.

• Self made Rakhi Threads along with the sweets and gifts are sent to the orphanages for tying to the ones who were not so fortunate to have their brother tying this sacred thread. This also brings smile on their faces.

• Brothers and sisters who are geographically separated send their Rakhis by post or any other fast means along with the gifts in the form of gift cheque etc. Now-a-days, due to the progress of communication owing to net, Rakhis could even be e-Rakhied without wastage of time. What a way to exploit the fast communication! This gesture too keeps the bond of brother-sister love ever blossoming.

• The Prohits self-make Rakhis and distribute amongst their disciples who put these on their writs with fervour. This too is considered as a SARED TWINE.

May true spirit of Raksha Bandhan prevails and creates affable brotherly feelings amongst the humanity in general so that there is no feeling of hostility amongst peoples around the globe.

ADVERSE IMPLICATIONS  ON STUDENTS DUE TO COVID RELATED LOCKDOWN CONDITIONS & ALSO ON THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS

SUNSHINE CAN HAPPEN ONLY WHEN WE GIVE RIGHT EDUCATION TO OUR CHILDREN

ADVERSE IMPLICATIONS  ON STUDENTS DUE TO COVID RELATED LOCKDOWN CONDITIONS & ALSO ON THE PRIVATE SCHOOLS

In essence, the adverse on the student community especially on the children below the age of thirteen is too much. The adverse implications are covered in the succeeding paragraphs.

ONLINE TEACHING & ITS ADVERSE IMPLICATION

Alternative mechanism of teaching (Online teaching) has perforce enhanced the screen-time activity of the students which have not only impaired their eyesight but also impacted their overall health. Due to this, we have seen frequent visits of parents with their children not only to the eye specialists besides General Physicians for physiological (by following unhealthy diet) or physiological (sometimes leading to self injury by the children) problems with their children for getting their children checked. The condition of many of children is really pathetic. All this is happening due to lockdowns owing to COVID 19 pandemic situations.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF THE CHILDREN

Exposure to virtual online classes of children impacts not merely the overall health of the students but also causing mental health problems. The persistent digital age impacts on the impressionable minds, especially teenage children, is really severe to say the least. The screen time exposure for more than six hours on daily basis is impactful.

MISUSE OF INTERNET MEDIA BY SOME UNSCRUPLOUS ELEMENTS

In essence, it is also a considered fact that teenagers are vulnerable ones in many ways. If the online classes by the teaching staff is only a consideration, then, it is acceptable but it when it includes physical and mental implications due to the misuse of internet media. This net connectivity and its use should be under the supervision of parents. Those parents who just leave their children with the online media, should introspect about the adverse implications their children could be subjected to. By misuse, it means, excessive use of net connectivity not merely for online studies but also to pay particular attention to other Apps such as games, violence related videos, to view apps dealing with obscenity or nude or semi nude scenes. These will have adverse impact on the vulnerable mindset of the children, especially the children teens.

ONLINE CLASSES & OBSCENE CLIPPINGS

One of the parents (who is a father of a 13 years teenager), related me about some obscene clips being uploaded by some unscrupulous or ill disciplined elements amongst the students or some outsiders too! He advised his teenager to ignore such ill intention ed clips. This creates a paradox of highest proportion for the parents of children with age group between 11 to 16 years of age. I am of the opinion that the parents should discretely keep their hawk probing eyes on their online classes.

NON-ATTENDANCE OF PARENTS WHILE ONLINE STUDIES IS ON

But those parents who cannot devote much time due to their preoccupation with their jobs or businesses should, of necessity, should set aside adequate time to supervise their online classes lest unhindered following of screen time on net-connectivity and other medias could impact their children physically and mentally. Leaving the vulnerable children to the mercy of predators in the society can have negative implication on the children.

ASSESSING OTHER MEDIAS WHILE PURSUING ONLINE STUDIES THROUGH ANDROID MOBILES

It has been observed that 80% of the children while pursuing their online classes do assess internet, gaming, chatting, videos depicting aggression, nude or semi nude clippings, etc. could be counterproductive. By letting these things prevail, we shall be leaving our children at the mercy of marauders thus putting the lives of the future of our next generation at the mercy of dreadful elements. While saner voices should vouch say that only saviour albeit plausible alternative left for us all is the formal schooling, in essence, is the need of the hour, with no ifs and buts.

TOO MUCH INDULGENCE ON DIGITAL MEDIA LEADS TO LETHARGY AND OBESITY PROBLEMS

While too much exposure or remaining hooked onto digital media sites leads to traits of lethargy and weariness leading to over weight (obesity) due to eating disorders when children take in junk foods. With no exercise, such children develop stress related ailments too.

PARENTS NOT GIVING QUALITY TIME TO THEIR WARDS

In the absence of giving quality time to their offspring, the real time interaction with the parents and other members of their family is not possible, therefore, such children get cut off from the parents etc.

WITH NO FORMAL SCHOOLING THE EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENTS PURSUITS LOWERING

All social networking through various media and no formal schooling can lower the educational attainments or pursuits. It has been seen that while pursuing online classes, it is not easy to pursue meaningful education with this method of teaching since doubts persisting in their minds of young minds remain haunting them which could meaningfully be done through formal education in schools only.

ILL-INTENTIONED INDIVIDUALS TAKING UNDUE ADVANTAGE

Too much of social working with no formal schooling can encourage the ill intentioned individuals thus leaving the children at the mercy of elements. The teenage children could also fall prey to sexual predator who are always on the look out for such victims. Then the question of cyber bulling too is having its adverse implication.

FORMAL SCHOOLING SUFFERING DUE TO TOO MUCH EXPOSTURE TO ONLINE CLASSES

From the above it is evident that giving too much credence to online classes while formal schooling could go a long way in ushering in holistic education to our children then why not do everything to do everything within our control so that our children are given education in formal institutions.

FORMAL EDUCATION IN FORMAL INSTITUTIONS

The role of education by formal schooling cannot be over emphasized. It has been well said that the teachers are the molders of the destinies of students, It is the school only wherein the education is imparted by the teachers formally who due to their expertise and experience exert their best in order to give them the right education.

John F Kennedy has rightly emphasized that children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for future. They are the future citizens who would be our leaders, engineers, doctors, scientists, the saviour of our country etc. And in this, teachers are the best architects who lay the solid foundation for a strong structure so that such a building could withstand any storm or any nature’s fury. Similar is the case of teachers who build a strong character of his/her students so that he/she faces any challenge which life throws on him/her.

OUR ALMA MATERS SHOULD HAVE APPROPRIATE AMBIENCE & ENVIRONMENT

The purpose of teachers could best be realized if suitable environment and appropriate ambience is created by the school management/owner of the school. The best Alma Mater is the one which meets all the conditions that is it has well stocked labs, has safe buildings for schooling, good seating arrangements, well ventilated, airy rooms with appropriate lighting arrangement, air condition room, if possible etc.

In order to make the Alma Mater a good place for educational pursuits, it is essential to take into account the expenditure incurred by the school management on construction of new buildings, renovate the old ones, carry out white washing of the walls periodically in addition to it all, taking care of greenery in the vicinity of school, appropriate sewerage system, water harvesting plant etc. The school too should have playing ground for the student with all the equipment and all needed playing kits and paraphernalia.

It is also essential that the school meets the safety parameters such as Fire Safety hazards, have good pool of transportation system for the students along with trained conductors and drivers with adequate experience in their trades.

CONSTRAINTS OF SCHOOL MANAGEMENTS/ SCHOOL OWNERS

All are aware that for the school to meet all the constraints, it is necessary that the owner/school management spends money for constructing the building first, then maintain it, sometimes add new building or reconstruct the other one. Then ensure that library is well stocked and maintained with current books including books on general knowledge etc.

We all are aware that for constructing the building initially, maintaining the same and refurbishing the same with good furniture etc. regular flow of funds are required. This comes from the students’ tuition fees only. If the students do not come to the school on regular basis and do not pay their fees on regular basis then from where the funds will come to meet the following expenditures.

(a) Construction of building initially, the owner may have taken loan from banks or from any other source for its construction. From where he would be paying the money so taken on loan if he is not getting tuition fees etc. from the students when the parents do not send their wards to the schools? There is no alternative but to feel hugely disappointed with anxieties write large as to how to pay back the loaned money along with the interest accrued on the principal amount! Sometimes, the owner may be forced to take recourse to ultimate decision of taking his own life.

(b) Continuous flow of funds is needed for meeting the expenditure on power bill, building renovation, expenditure on purchase of computers and transport or carry out the repairs as and when needed etc. If no payment is there from the students then from where he would be getting the requisite amount?

(c) The school staff besides watch and ward staff etc. are required to be given their monthly salaries on regular basis, therefore, it is essential that the students pay their tuition fees regularly. If the parents do not send their wards to the school on regular basis and do not pay the tuition fees along with maintenance allowance etc. then from where the school management would get succour.

(d) When there is no source of income from any source, then, on whom the school managements or owners could bank on. It is either Almighty God or our Hon’ble Courts.

(e) With Damocles sword of compliance with Rules DSSR 1973 and other rules of education authorities, the school management is constrained to spend funds from their reserve funds to maintain the modicum of standard operating procedure for infra development etc. otherwise lose recognition. With no source of funds except tuition fees, which too is not being paid by the parents since they are reluctant to send their wards to the school, the school management is left in the lurch.
(f) In order to save the interests of the private unaided schools, it is paramount that all out efforts should be made by all concerned (Government, parents and school staff) and save the private from permanent closure owing to lack of funds either for payment of salaries to the staff or maintenance of the school infra.
(g) Parents, teachers and the school management should sit together to find a plausible solution to all the problems so that the differences are ironed out amicably, the sooner it is done the better otherwise it would be too late.

MY THOUGHTS ON 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

THOUGHTS ON 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

HARD WON FREEDOM

CONGRATULATIONS ON 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

Our forefathers got us freedom
After struggle so unmatched
Against the foreign rule
The rulers who ruled
With an iron hand
Handing out punishments severest
For the filmiest of reasons
The rulers destroyed the traditional industries
To popularize their brand of products
Even education was devised in a manner
Which produced only chair-borne jobs
The sordid massacre of Jallianwala-Bagh
Wherein thousands were gunned down
Amongst other incidences
Which left a trail of executions
And jails to many of the freedom fighters
Even in Cellular jail (Kala Pani) in Andaman and Nicobar
They withstood everything without much remorse
Finally got freedom from foreign repression
With a sacred pledge to create the good impression
Amongst diverse groups of people with diverse ideologies
Thereby to live in harmony
On the principles of unity in diversity
And assiduously maintain this hard-earned sovereignty
By removing the spectre of poverty
Hunger, difference based on regionalism and hostility
And narrow parochialism
And ultimately enjoy the fruits of freedom.

MAY BOUNTIFUL BLESSINGS OF OUR GOD REMAIN ON ALL OF US

15th AUGUST – INDEPENDENCE DAY (HEARTIEST FELICITATIONS)

MY WISH LIST FOR INCLUSIVE GROWTH

Keeping in view the sacrifices made by our forefathers for the independence of our country, I pray to Almighty God that our country should have inclusive growth and development, of course despite notwithstanding. My wish-list for this ‘Independence Day’ and the coming ones is a mix of inter-faith harmony, ensuring economic upward trend impacted by lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic, hopeless politics which has really reached to Nidar, reflected by the rude behaviour in the holy temple of our democracy (Rajya Sabha), probity in public discourse, while working within the ambit of our Constitution, ensuring law & order besides facing the realities of our times including the specter of terrorism, extremism, violence and of course ensuring  protection against Covid-19 pandemic (all should get vaccinated to attain herd immunity)   etc. My wish list is long but brevity should serve the purpose.

IMPLICATION OF CLIMATE CHANGE

It has been observed that rapid climate change has impacted the eco-system to a maximum extent. The effects of rapid climatic change, especially rise in temperature due to carbon emissions has resulted in dry spells (droughts) in which there were scanty rains and more than average rains besides cloud bursts in many parts of India resulting in excessive inundations and land slides in which deaths and destruction has resulted. What happened in Himachal Pradesh (kinnaur) on 11th August 2021 is an eye-opener for us all. If we do not act now to alleviate the situattion by reversing the trend in rise in temperature by reducing the carbon emissions otherwise we would be leaving a legacy of uncertain future for the nextgen. As we’ve got our freedom by sacrificing in men and materials, therefore, there is necessity for us to contribute our mite for safeguarding either by planting more trees as they become agent to suck in Carbon besides holding the earth with their roots or reduce carbon emission which results due to burning of coal, mineral oil and its products etc.

MAY WE HAVE JOY IN ABUNDANCE

Heavy monsoon rains have resulted in deaths and destruction including destruction of standing crops and live stocks in many parts of India. Most of the rivers are flowing above danger mark thus inundating the areas in their vicinity. The states severely affected in the North are Bihar, U.P., Uttaranchal; North-Eastern states, Maharashtra (Mumbai particularly). In the South, Karnataka and Kerala have been severely affected. Immediate steps should be taken to safeguard the lives and properties everywhere. I want all the states adversely affected by current floods should be protected on war-footings. Till such time we keep our internal situation stabilized and protected from natural calamities.

ENSURING HOLISTIC GROWTH IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION

We all including Centre and the States should ensure vaccination jabs are administered to all without bias of any sort till such time herd immunity is attained all over the country. Then, all of us should adhere to Covid-19 pandemic related protocols such as keeping adequate social distancing, wearing face masks, ensure sanitation of hands and surrounding etc. We should also take proper diet and regular exercises or Yoga for keeping our body healthy. If our countrymen are healthy, they would be able to put in their best to fructify the job in hand with more productivity.

PAYING MORE ATTENTION TO GAMES AND SPORTS

Both Centre and the State Governments should ensure that our youth participate in games and sports in a big way so that we win more medals in sports internationally. Indian players won seven medals including one gold medal in javelin throw by Subedar Niraj Chopra. May we win many more laurels for our country. This will happen when we give more stress on games and sports in our schools and colleges.

ENSURING VACCINATION OF OUR COUNTRYMEN

The second wave of Covid—19 pandemic has taugh

MAY SUNSHINE OF HAPPINESS REMAINS FOR ALL

t us some lessons; we should always be ready to meet the challenges of health hazards posed by the virulent virus which has not left as yet, If we do not follow coronavvirus related protocols for safety of our people, we can be engulfed by this disease again. We should ensure that almost all are vaccinated to attain herd immunity. Besides, we should also follow social distancing, wear face masks while in the crowd, keep ourselves sanitized besides keeping our surrounding near and clean.

ETHICAL BEHAVIOUR BY OUR POLITICAL CLASS

It is an undisputed fact that we choose our representatives so that they represent us in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and solve our problem by legislating new bills through discussions and discourses. But the ugly behaviour showcased by some of MPs in Rajya Sabhas has inculcated a feeling is dismay and disappointment. The way they behaved; standing on the table and throwing the Rule Book towards the Chair, manhandling the marshals, who are in fact for their protection only and worst of it all snatching a paper from the Minister and subsequently tearing it. All these ruckus has really lowered the image of the MPs in the Upper House!!! I want my elected representatives to present a fine example so that our future generation learns from them how best to legislate while they enter the political arena.

ABROGATION OF ARTICLE 370 FROM J&K

After the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of state into two UTs, it is in the fitness of things to usher in all round progress of all the three regions (Srinagar, Jammu and Ladakh) without any bias whatsoever.

DOWNWARD TREND IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AFTER  SPREAD OF COVID INFECTION

MAY INDIA GETS HOLISTIC GROWTH

We are aware that spread of coronavirus infection has impacted all walks of lives. It is due to job losses and business losses. Many companies have closed down due to persisting lockdowns due to which unemployment has increased. Address of Prime Minister at CII conclave to business community on 11th August 2021 is a step in right direction. I am of the firm conviction that there would be holistic growth and development in the country in which more jobs would be created, more growth in industrial and agricultural sectors are ensured. More goods and services are created partly for internal consumption and partly for exports. All the factors of economy of scale should be followed threadware so that our economy grows faster.

For this to be a reality, the Government has to take measures that will improve unemployment problem, the current NPA problems of the banks are looked, of course not forgetting the effects of global slowdown/meltdown environment.

SELF RESPECT

It is a fact that respect is earned by our day to day behavior and demeanor. We have to earn our respect. It is not given to us on the platter for nothing. If I want that others should respect me, it is essential that I respect others. One who knows how to maintain self-respect knows the need of respecting others on the basis of quid pro quo. It is synonymous with: Charity begins at home. Even a small child will respond with respect if I treat that child well.

I WANT MY INDIA TO BE SENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF FELLOWMEN

The insensitivity and callousness that we show towards road accident victims is really pathetic. Our heart should feel pain when anybody is in pain. In order to get respect, we should respect others since it is based on reciprocity.

CHANGE IN THE MINDSET BASED ON CASTE, CREED, AND COLOUR

Previously the Varnas or caste system was on the basis of professions which the people followed. Now everybody is free to profess his/her profession, therefore, there should not be any need to give more credence to narrow thinking based on caste, creed and other considerations. Recent happenings in some parts of India are the blots on the society as a whole wherein the Dalits are beaten up mercilessly either by cow protection vigilantes or cold-shouldered even by the law enforcement agencies when approached by them for action. These incidences also echoed in the Parliament and all expressed their anguished on the sordid incidents.

TRADITIONAL MODES OF BEHAVIOR/VALUES SYSTEMS

It is a sad commentary that we are forgetting the traditional modes of behavior. The values which our forefathers attached to family and our cultural modes of behavior is being forgotten and in its place, narrow regional considerations are being given credence knowing fully well that these are neither beneficial to anybody in the society. I would like my countrymen to imbibe traditional values for which my Bharat is acclaimed since ages with the dictum, respect others if you want to get respect. It is never a one-sided affair. I want our offspring to imbibe the best value system.

SWACHCH BHARAT MISSION OR ABHIYAN

Swachch Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister of India Shri Narinder Modi Ji at Rajghat on 2nd October 2014 has paid rich dividends and it has become a campaign to make the length and breadth of India neat and clean. Neat and clean India is healthy India and healthy India is free from diseases. I wish that this mission succeeds by the participation of all so as to ensure cleanliness all around.

ECONOMICALLY STRONG COUNTRY

GOOD AMBIANCE CREATES GOOD FEELING

In this world of competitiveness, economic development of any nation is very essential. A country is respected only when it is economically strong and self reliant. For becoming economically strong, it is important that all the sectors of the economy; be it industrial or agricultural should contribute for the economic health of the economy. This can only happen when we have inclusive growth and development. Nothing happens in isolation should never be forgotten.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

Education of the masses is one of the important factors for the overall health of the country. Care ought to be exercised that students are taught the skills along with the general education so that they ‘earn while they learn’. Our youth should be trained in right skill so that they are able to earn while they learn, of couse in accordance with their capability. New Education Policy advocated by the Ministry of Education is in right direction; keeping in view the availability of rich in Human Resource in our country. We have to exploit this rich resource for our own benefit. This is also important to avoid brain drain which is presently happening. Our IITs and IIMs are churning out technocrats and management professionals of the highest calibre. Their talents should never go waste. Let our Government come forward in absorbing these talents for garnering benefits for our country.

A COUNTRY WHICH RESPECTS THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN AND GIRL CHILD

It is high time we respect our women folks. The Divine Trinity has his female counterpart; Saraswati (learning) – Lord Barmha, Lakshmi (wealth) – Lord Vishnu and Parvati (power) – Lord Shiva. All the rituals, especially auspicious ones, are incomplete without women being part of it all. Disrespecting women was construed as the disrespecting the God. All the relationships – mother, wife, daughter, sister, etc are essential for us all. In olden times these relations were considered very reverential. Without these, what is the status of the father in relation to mother, wife in relation to husband, daughter in relation to son, sister in relation to brother etc. A woman was supposed to be the manifestation of Goddess/Shakti and the male was supposed to be incomplete without the female (Shakti) with him. Lord Shiva is incomplete with His Shakti (Goddess Parvati) that is why it is called SHIVSHAKTI.

Even in Ramayana times, women used to choose their suitors – Maan Sita chose Lord Rama after he broke the Dhanush of Lord Shiva in a sacred ceremony called soBmbar. Even in Mahabharata Dropati chose Arjuna in a sobmbar.

In other words, those who want to subjugate women and refuse to give their proper place, they are hypocrites. A simple question: CAN THIS PROCREATION and raising of new GENERATION possible without women? Men and women are the equal partners and ought to be taken as such. It is, therefore my fond hope that women are given their right place and it should be our m9ission to protect the ‘girl child’.

CORRUPTION FREE SOCIETY

One of the impediments which is eating into the very vitals of our society is the hydra-headed corruption. We are aware of the scamps and corrupt practices that were used in allotting coal blocks, use of middleman in defence purchases, and currently, even the Judiciary has come under attack with some people tarnishing its image. I want a corruption free society where merit and fairplay are given more credence.

IF WE WANT TO PROGRESS, IT IS A MUST THAT WE ARE INTERNALLY STRONG

For this to happen, it is a important that we are economically stable, politically mature, militarily self-sufficient, a country whose opinion is taken with a pinch of salt diplomatically. I want my countrymen to help the needy when it is mostly needed.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D)

I am really very happy that our space scientists have made us proud by sending CHANDERYAN – 2 to the moon. DRDO should also endeavoured to chip in so that we may not have to rely on foreign countries for meeting our defence needs. Wish that our R&D matches with best in the world so that we do not be dependent on others for our defence needs or any other crucial needs.

HEALTH CARE OF THE GENERAL MASSES

The Government should take care of the health and well-being of the people in general. The hospitals should have adequate stock of medicines besides doctors and other para-medical staff to provide medicare to our citizenry. The private hospitals too should be within the reach of the general public for seeking medical care. Medical insurance should also cater to the needs of the general public.

PEOPLE’S REPRESENTATIVES SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE

We choose our representatives so that they pass various legislation and do everything for the upliftment of the society as a whole. Thiis Monsoon session was the least productive. The hooliganistic behaviour in Rajya Sabha is really saddening. The misconduct and rukus created by some of our MPs in Rajya Sabha is appalling. We chose our MPs for legislation and have discussions which is good for the country as a whole but their behaviour is disappointing to say the least.

HONOURING THE NATIONAL HEROES

It should be our endeavor to respect the dependents of those who laid down their lives for the freedom of our country. Not only freedom fighters but those who lay down their lives to protect the hard earned freedom. We remember our heroes only when some unsavory incident of terrorist happens but soon thereafter we woefully forget their valor and supreme sacrifices.

RESPECT OF BHARAT MATA IN THE COMITY OF NATIONS

We are connected with other countries of the world. Anything which happens in one part of the world has its reverberations/repercussions in other parts of the world. It may be economical deceleration, political upheaval, extremists/terrorists strikes/activities, all these have their effects on all the countries.

UNQUESTIONABLE INTEGRITY

I would like all people with unquestionable integrity for upholding the unity and solidarity of India. This is the most essential asset for an individual. If it is in suspect then the very existence of ours is in doubt and a life with doubt is fraught with impediments.

RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER’s FAITHS AND BELIEFS

India has diverse cultural modes. Its different religions, castes, creeds, belief systems, languages etc. If we respect each others’ modes of behavior, then there would be cohesion and brotherhood amongst our countrymen. When we are united, then no power can subjugate us. For this to happen in the real sense of terms, it is important that we respect each other rights.

SPIRITUALLY ORIENTATION LIFESTYLE

One of my fondest wishes is that India may become progressive but with spiritualistic outlook, where people are awakened morally, culturally, aesthetically, progressive and more compassionate. Also keeping all along in that progress – leaving none while following a life of morality and fair-play.

INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT TAKES PLACE

Due to one reason of the other, the industrial development of our country remains almost stagnant or is below par. This is due to lack of resources. A country whose markets are being exploited by foreigners remains industrial backward is really bad. People buy and use Chinese made goods at cheaper rates without any guarantee of their use. Can India not manufacture the same goods for their own people and exploit the gigantic market – benefiting the industry and the people both. The profit earned by the owners of the industry could then be pumped for more production and increasing their capacities.

AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT IS ENSURED

Due to beggaries of monsoon, the agricultural production remains uncertain. The fear of scanty rain results in an increase in prices of food item/vegetables etc creating food inflation. This is especially so in rainy season. The prices of vegetables are skyrocketing. The people do feel a pinch.

• If water management is properly done, then, the deficit created by the scarcity of rain could be bridged.

  • Ensure vaccination for all so as to attain herd immunity for good health and wellness of my countrymen.
  • Due to change in climate due to carbon emission, temperature has soared which has resulted in wild fires at many places and rains and cloud bursts at many place due to which there are floods at many places in many states of the union. There is a need to minimize carbon emission.
  • More emphasis should be given to games and sports so that we win more medals in the international arena.

• The Government’s project/ plan of connecting major rivers could do wonders in this regard. This would also help in reducing flood related deaths and destruction.

• Due to the persistent use of water for drinking, in agriculture, industry etc, the scenario of ground water available would be grim in near future. Maximum attention need to be given to the precious water resources so that this resource is not depleted.

• Pollution to be tackled on the war footings.

  • Infrastructure Development ought to be a continuous process.

• Imports / Export Policies oriented for improvement of imports and exports. More exports mean more foreign currency for the country. The more foreign currency could reduce the budget deficit which has become a number one headache for the country.

• Foreign Exchange Reserve to be replenished.

• Fiscal Policies revised as per the need of the hour so that the current rate/value of rupee does not fall as is being happened presently.

• IT Sector to be given the boost. India is potentially a soft power giant. But we have to exploit this resource to the hilt as is being done by other countries. Our IT experts are proving their mettle in other countries. We are thus losing our human resources and also the benefits which our country ought to have garnered.

• It should never be forgotten that other countries too are improving in the IT sector. It is a must that this Sector should be given more incentive so that it improves further and earns much needed Foreign Exchange for the country.

The above are some of our wish-list which every right-thinking Indian would like to have for the overall development of the Bharat of our dream.

CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPLICATION

CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPLICATION

MORE RAINS RESULTING IN MORE FLOODS WHICH IS IMPACTING LIFE GLOBALLY

In essence, it has been experienced that if we do not obey the Laws of Nature, it will not forgive us for our indiscretions. Its retributions would be there for us humans to face. The nature’s fury may be in the form of tsunamis, cloud bursts, earthquakes, sea storms of disproportionate intensity, forest fires, melting of ice on the mountains and seas due to rise in temperatures (due to which the level of sea too is rising thus taking the land in its fold) and inundation of worst form excessive rains or droughts due to no rain at all. All this reprisals happen due to human activities of transgressing the Nature.

The increase in the number of cloudbursts causing deaths and destruction around the world is a cause of immense concern. The cloudbursts are associated with sudden burst of rain falling on a small geographical area with devastating implications. The increase in the cloudbursts incidents is a cause of concern. Seemingly, it too is caused due to climate changes.

CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS ADVERSE IMPACTS

Climate change is having serious impacts on the world’s water systems through more floods and droughts. Warmer air can hold a higher water content, which makes rainfall patterns more extreme. Less or no rain at all brings about droughts of worst order resulting in depletion of water in rivers and lakes which supply drinking water for people and animals and are a vital resource for farming and industry.

DROUGHTS & DEPLETION OF WATER UNDERNEATH THE EARTH

There has been more droughts at many places, the affect of which is depletion of ground water level; the water in the tanks, lakes and other water bodies is drying out due to which the ground water underneath the earth is getting reduced/depleted. This is happening globally. All this is happening partly due to no rain or less rains besides due to pumping out more water from the earth.

RISE IN TEMPERATURE & ITS ADVERSE AFFECTS

RISE IN TEMPERATURE DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE IS RESULTING IN FOREST FIRES GLOBALLY

Due to change in global temperature and other aspects of climate changes brought about by the humans around the globe in order to satiate their greed, there have been more than average rains around the globe. The following are the impacts of rains globally: Global evidence of devastations due to floods around the world have resulted in deaths of humans and live stocks along with destruction of properties made from their hard earnings.

INUNDATION AND ITS ADVERSE AFFECTS

FLOODS ARE PLAY HAVOC AROUND THE GLOBE DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

There has been floods around the world due to rise in extreme rains due to human activities resulting in floods around the globe. There has been disproportionate inundation in India, Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Costa Rica, Germany, Belgium, Yemen, Turkey, Senegal, etc. We all know that all these floods are due to human activities. If we want to stop this, we should come together globally and stop or minimize those activities which are bringing about climate change.

RISE IN TEMPERATURE AND ITS IMPLICATIONS

The adverse affects which the climate change is affecting has already been observed around the world. Due to climate changes, temperatures are soaring owing to which glaciers are shrinking, ice on the mountains are prematurely melting. Then deforestation for human habilitation, industrialisation etc. is adversely affecting the green cover resulting in change of lush green forests into deserts thereby adversely implicating the rainfalls. Where there was no rain, more rains are happening, where there were deserts with sparse rains are taking place. The rains in many parts of globe are becoming cause of deluges resulting in deaths and destruction. In fact disproportionate/uneven changes in climate are adversely affecting the environment globally.

Recent research study has cautioned that due to climate changes there has been unprecedented rise in Atlantic temperatures which means there would be  worst storms besides it will impact the marine life in and around the sea.

RISE IN TEMPERATUREE IS RESULTING IN ICE MELTING RESULTING IN RISE OF WATER LEVEL AND ALSO RISE IN TEMPERATURE IN ATLANTIC OCEAS – THE RECENT REARCH HAS WARNED OF ITS BAD IMPACTS

ICE MELTING DUE TO RISE IN TEMPERATURE

The melting of Antarctic ice and also melting of sea ice due to rise in temperature is resulting in rise is sea level thereby sea water is engulfing the land.

We are aware that temperatures are rising due to greenhouse gases due to human activities such as cutting more trees and establishment of more industries as average temperature of earth’s atmosphere is changing dramatically primarily due to greenhouse gases available in the Earth’s atmosphere . The generation of Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone due to human activities would have a telling implication on the eco-system. The emission of more carbon and its compounds due to burning of coal, mineral oils and its products are impacting the atmosphere adversely therefore our bionetwork is changing dramatically.

IMPACT OF CLIMATIC CHANGES IS HUGE

It is a considered fact that atmospheric changes do impact the lives of all living beings; humans, plant world, animal world including sea life. Temperature ranging from 2o centigrade to 5o centigrade will impact the atmosphere hugely.

It is also a fact that people induced rise in temperature is different from place to place. We are aware that those countries which consume more coal, mineral oils and its products, etc. are responsible for production of carbon emissions. They should come forward and reduce its emission to a permissible level otherwise disaster after disaster will come about.

INCREASE IN HEAT WAVES AND RESULTANT FOREST FIRES

Increase in temperature has resulted in increase in heat waves for more period of time and cold waves have lessened in its intensity and for lesser time. Due to this, more forest fires are taking place globally.

It is also understood that the changes in climate are increasing the intensity of storms and hurricanes resulting in deaths and destruction.

AFFECTS OF RISE IN TEMPERATURE

Global rise in temperature has rise by about 8 inches by now and it will further rise to 1—8 feet by 2100. Due to rise in temperature globally. This rise in temperature has resulted in melting of ice on the mountains and on the sea etc. resulting in expansion of more water as it warms itself. It does not augurs well globally.

HOW BEST WE CAN TACKLE ADVERSE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGES

As the climate change is resulted due to emission of more Carbon and its compounds in the atmosphere, for limiting its emission, two pronged strategy has to be adopted.

LIMITING THE EMISSION OF CARBON

Those countries who are responsible for more emission due to their industrialization and construction pursuit should limit their carbon emission to a permissible level. For this, the developed countries should play their part effectively and help limit the emission of carbon and its compounds and spoil the eco-system – the sooner it is done, the better for us all.

PLANTING MORE TREES

We are aware that the trees help in absorption of carbon that will contribute for enhancement of temperature globally. The trees also help the soil to capture and store carbon. They take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. Trees also use sunlight energy, uses carbon dioxide and water to create energy for their cells. A process called the photosynthesis. In other words, trees use carbon dioxide as their food thus the trees are responsible for limiting the effects of carbon emissions. More we plantation, less is the carbon for emission. Therefore, it should be our mission to plant more trees in order to have minimum carbon emission. Trees also help in preventing soil erosion since their roots hold the soil and prevent its erosion.

Conclusively, the affects of climate change and its implications are huge, therefore, the best way out is that all countries especially the ones which are responsible for carbon emission should contribute their mite and reduce carbon emission the sooner it is done is better for the humanity as a whole otherwise it would create worst case scenario for the world as a whole. If we want to preserve the future of our gennext, it is essential that we minimize the carbon emission to a permissible level otherwise, black future stares us at our face.

Some solution of alleviating the preseent state of climate change:-

  • Large scale tree plantation to be done as we are aware that trees can absorb or utilize the atmospheric carbon as their food and grow. This should be done as a festival (Van Mahotasava).
  • The carbon emotion, as a necessity, has to be minimized to the extent possible. Although it is easier said than done yet it has to be done on war footing so as to reduce the rising temperature globally which is impacting eco-system besides polluting the environs to impermissible level. In this, the advanced countries and the ones who are utilizing coal, mineral oils and its products etc. have to play their part actively, the sooner it is done the better for the survival of the humanity. The soaring temperature of Atlantic Ocean is a warning of worst order.
  • Use of alternative fuel or green energy  like athonol, use of wind energy, solar energy, use of CNG both for vehicles and for domestic use, solar energy etc. be expored on war footing and use of coal and mineral oil could be reduced gradually.

GURU HAR KRISHAN JI (THE PRAKASH DIVAS OF SHRI GURU HARKRISHAN JI  ON 2ND AUGUST 2021)

SHRI GURU HARKRISHAN JI (THE PRAKASH DIVAS OF SHRI GURU HARKRISHAN JI  ON 2ND AUGUST 2021)

SHRI GURU HARKRISHAN JI

God Almighty is the most benevolent one
He sends the most dearest messengers to this planet
Who make a huge difference by spreading the message of wisdom
And render selfless succor to the masses without even caring about their own.

This messenger of Akalpurakh was born on 23rd  July 1656
To Sri Guru Har Rai & mother Sulakni ji
He was chosen Eighth of Ten Sikh Gurus Jis’
Succeeding his illustrious father Sri Guru Rai Ji
Surprisingly when he was only of five years of age!

The youngest amongst all the Guru Sahibans
Being most gracious and benevolent one at heart
Thus leaving his elder brother Baba Ram Rai
Due to his collision with Mughal empire.

There was an incredible incident in Gurudwara
Near Ambala at Panjokhra
A Sanskrit learned person named Pandit Lal Chand challenged the Guruji
To explicitly explain the Sanstrit verses from Bhagwad Gita
Lo & behold, Guruji just pointed a stick at Gangu Jheevar
An illiterate with no literary knowledge to bank on – a total blank
Surprised everyone present
He spoke sermons of Bhagwad Gita to the perfection.

Thence Guruji came to Delhi at Gurudwara Balaji
Where a large  number of people came to have dharshan of Guruji
But as ill luck would have it
There was, in and around Delhi, smallpox and cholera epidemics
Guruji with his soft emotional feelings
Brimming with soft emotions for the sufferings
Took upon himself the task of curing ailment bereft of any bias!

In the process became too weak to move
Refused taking any treatment for curing himself!
Called for five coins and a coconut for the purpose
Waved his hand three times in the air
And told that his successor be found in Bakala in Punjab
Thence he left his body at the age of seven!

He lived for others and left his mortal body so that others could live
He advised his disciples/sangat
To respect the will of Almighty God
And praise Him and do not feel disappointed
At his untimely demise which was due to seva of hapless masses
Examples of which we find rare in the annals of history.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is built
The place of which was gifted by Raja of Rajesthan
After Sri Guruji, with his mystic power
Fulfilled Raja’s litmus test of recognizing
His queen amongst several ladies lining
Surprise of all surprises, Guruji did this without even a moment losing.

Whereas Guruji provided succor to epidemic stricken
And left for his ultimate journey
Though less in age as year count
Yet mature in sagacity which are reckoned
Bestowed by our Wahe Guru Ji
May Guruji’s legacy remain inspiring us humans
Generations after generations.

It is significant to mention that Shri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Ji is also termed as the Bal Guruji since he succeeded his father Shri Guru Rai Ji, the seventh Guru, at a very tender age of five years. He was born on 23rd July 1656 (in very pious month of Shravan as per traditional calendar) in Kiratpur to mother Sulakhni and Guu Har Rai, as per traditional calendar he was born in Shravan month and became Guru on 7th October 1661. But his stint as Guru remained only for two year, 5 months and 24 days since he passed away on 8th April 1664 owing to smallpox which he contracted due to his service (Seva) to those people who suffered from smallpox and cholera. He is also known as Baba Bakale too.

It is also relevant to mentioned that Baba Ram Rai (aged 13 years), the elder son of Guru Har Rai  was sent to Delhi to explain one verse of Adi Ganth, which Emperior Aurangzeb considered as against the Muslims. In order to please Aurangzeb, he changed the verse which made Guu Har Rai angry and he excommunicated his elder son and thus noinated his younter son Harkishan to succeed as the next Guru of Sikhs (as 8th Guru). Thereopon, Aurangzeb called Guru Harkrishan to Delhi to meet him. However, the meeting was cancelled since while serving people suffering from smallpox and cholera he himself contracted smallpox disease. He died on 8th April 1664. Afterwards, Guru Tegh Bahadur was identified as 9th Guru of Sikhs.

While going to Delhi to meet Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, he stayed at Panjokhra Sahib Gurdwara in Ambala (Haryana). He also stayed at Ropar, Banur and Raipura where he spread the message of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. At Delhi, he stayed in a bungalow of Raja Jai Singh which is presently known as Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.

During his stay in Delhi, he served the people suffering from epidemic of smallpox and cholera. Besides he offered them water from a well at his house which had a magical effect on those suffering from the dread disease. While taking care of the patients suffering from smallpox and cholera, he himself contracted the symptoms of smallpox, had high fever due to which he died but not before curing the people suffering from dreaded disease. It is also relevant to mention that he bestowed cure to the suffering  people without any bias.

The devotees visit Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in order to seek the blessings of the Shri Guru Harkrishnan Sahib Ji (Also called as Bal Guru). The devouts get their wishes fulfilled after their visit to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.

GURU is a Sanskrit word meaning master, teacher or a preacher for whom we have huge respect. Guru is the one who removes our ignorance from the knowledge (Gyan) from Guru Ji thus we get enlightemen from his teachings. Guru Ji is the One who is knower of religious gyan or the one who transmits wisdom to the disciples. In fact Guru is a saintly person who enlightens the disciples with knowledge absolute and changes our lives with the enlightenment.

The following are the Ten Gurus of Sikhs:-

Guru Nanak Devji (1469-1539).
Guru Angadji (1504-52).
Guru Amardasji (1552-74).
Guru Ramdasji ( 1574-81).
Guru Arjan Devji (1581-1606).
Guru Har Gobindji (1606-45)
Guru Har Raiji (1630-61).
Guru Harkrishanji (1661-64).
Guru Teg Bahadurji (1675-1708).
Guru Gobind Singhji (1675-1708).

Shri Guru  Harkrishan ji followed the principles dear to his father Shri Guru Har Raiji. On the other hand, his elder brother named Baba Ram Rai, was disinherited due to his anti-Guru Ghar activities.Guru Harkrishan was of tender age of only FIVE years when he attained Guruship which is obviously an achievement in spirituality which very few attained taking into consideration the human history.

In order to test the knowledge of Guru Harkrishan, Pandit Lal Chand challenged Guruji for his knowledge of Bhagwad Gita’s philosophy. With Guruji’s blessings, an illiterate person named Chhaju Ram expounded the philosophy of Gita with ease. Due to this miracle, Pandit Lal Chand got influenced and became a true Sikh after knowing about the knowledge and mystic power of the Guru.

The decision of Guru Har Rai made his elder son infuriated so much so that he complained this matter to Emperor Aurangzeb about this decision. A message was consequently conveyed to the young Guru to meet him. In the first instant, Guruji was reluctant to meet the emperor but finally decided to meet him in Delhi. Emperor wanted to test the acumen and wisdom of Guruji. He had two large trays; in one some precious ornaments, clothes and toys were kept and in other holy man’s cloak and other things were kept. These two trays were presented to Guru Harkrishan ji for choosing one of these. He chose the second one, thus proving his holiness.

While Guru Harkrishanji was staying in Delhi, (A Gurdwara named Bangla Sahib was built where he stayed serving common masses without any discrimination). At that time, unfortunately, there was smallpox and cholera epidemic consequently there were many deaths. Guruji attended these epidemic stricken people thus exposing himself to these dreaded diseases. In this way, he served the mankind without any bias; of caste and creed, without caring for his own life – that is rarest of rare selfless service found in the annals of history.

Guru Har Rai ji passed away on 20th October 1661, thereupon, despondency engulfed amongst the disciples. But Guru Harkrishan consoled his disciples and advised them to abide by the wishes of the Almighty God. He also told his disciples to sing the praises of God and not to weep or feel disappointed.

Guru Harkrishan exhorted his disciples to have virtue of patience in life. He had an extraordinary ability to explain from the passages of Granth Sahib. In this way, Guru Harkrishan kept the legacy of Gurus intact. So much so he was immersed in humanitarian task that he himself was seized with high fever which turned into an attack of smallpox which resulted in his confinement to bed for many days.

While serving the suffering people from the epidemic day and night,  suddenly one day Guru Harkrishan, due to incessant assistance of the people suffering from epidemics of smallpox and cholera. He developed symptoms of fiver. The fever turned to the beginning of an attack of smallpox symptoms, due to which he was perforce confined to bed for several days. The Guru’s tender body deteriorated by the disease and thereafter, Akalpurakh called him for fulfilling some other mission at His abode.

The teachings of SHRI HARKISHAN are:

  • Render seva (service) to the people suffering without any expectation while rendering assistance.
  • Spread the message as enshrined in holy Gurbani and follow the holy scriptures while rendering seva to remove their sufferings.
  • While rendering seva to remove the sufferings, we should not care for our own life as was done by Guruji in Delhi. He tried to alleviate the sufferings of the hapless people suffering from smallpox and cholera, he himself contracted smallpox. He developed feverish too due to which he breathed his last thus immortalized himself.
  • One of the stellar lessons from the life of Guru Hakrishnaji is that age is not the consideration for getting knowledge, it is the grace of Gurus’ and the inner potential you possess which counts.
  • Enlightenment is attained when we focus on the knowledge contained in the scriptures  while following the value system imparted by our parents.
  • Finally, we should have the traits of patience, tolerance, compassion and a spirit of sacrifice, even if it is ultimate sacrifice.
