HAPPY HARYALI TEEJ TO ALL IN THE HOLY MONTHS OF Shravan and Bhadrapada of Hindu Calendar

HAPPY HARYALI TEEJ TO ALL IN THE HOLY MONTHS OF Shravan and Bhadrapada of Hindu Calendar

HARYALI TEEJA: The festival Haryali Teej are celebrated and is chiefly celebrated by women folks when they sing songs in praise of Goddess Parvati and her consort Lord Shiva. It is a monsoon festival;  when the sky is overcast with clouds and occasional rains. There is greenery all around with birds too enjoy the climate change. Women folks distribute sweets especially Ghevar and other sweets

Women generally keep a strict fast on this day while celebrating this festival. This festival is celebrated in western and Northern  India including Nepal during the months of Shravan and Bhadrapada of Hindu Calendar. The women folks pray to Goddess Parvati and Lord Bhole Ji during Teej festival in their best attires of orange, red or green colours with the best bangles . There is air of festivity all around the temples and other places. Their union too is celebrated by all.

It also refers to the third day which falls on every month after the new moon termed as Amavasya and after the full moon night of every lunar month. This Teej  too is termed as HARYALI TEEJ since there is greenery or haryali around which makes the ambiance celebratory in every way.

Shravan month (Maas) is the fifth month of Hindu Calendar which is dedicated to Lord Shiva wherein we pray for His bounties. He is known to as The Destroyer and subsequently to be recreated. In the hierarchy of Trinity – Lord Vishnu (Responsible for evolution which is created), Lord Mahesh (The destroyer for recreation) and Lord Brahma (The creator).

The Lord Shiva creates, protects and changes the universe for the benefit of His creations. Goddess Parvati is the partner of Lord Shiva. She is the SHAKTI (Nature). She is SHIV SHAKTI and together they are temd as ARDHNIRASHWARA.Therefore, it would not be wrong to infer both SHIVA and SHAKTI as the combined force who together come to the succour of their devotees.

Lord Shivaa is the One who is pleased easily and blesses his devotees. He could be pleased with simple bel leave. On this month, the people worship Lord Shiva for the entire month besides observing fast too. Various rituals like Holy Havan too is performed to please Him and get His blessings. In fact, His benevolencce and compassionate nature is known to everybody and that is why He is also termed as the BHOLE JI too.

Lord Shiva is the Param Atma (SUPER SOUL) of the universe. He is described as most fearful and most benevolent too. He is the simple Yogi who lives a ascetic life on Mount Kailash with His consort Parvati and his two children Lord Ganesha and Kartikaya. In his ascetic form He is described as the Bhola Ji (Very simple) and in His destructive nature He is responsible for killing the most ferocious demons. He is known as Adi Yogi Shiva. He remains in Yoga Mudra or meditative trace;  seems detached from the outer world but is alive to everything which is happening around the world.

One of the best attributes of Lord Shiva are some of the icons like serpent around His neck, the crescent on the head, the holy river Ganga flowing from his hair which are matted. Then the third eye on his forehead is indicative of the depiction of anger. The Trident or trishula is his weapon of destruction and the drumaru or drum which indicates that He is music loving. Furthermore He is worshipped in the aniconic form of Longam.

It has been observed that Samundra Manthan or churning of the seas was the momentous event which was done by the Gods and the demons with a pupose of extracting some most precious things of immense utility amongs which was nectar. This was partly to showcase the superiority of Gods over Demons and also to obtain most important things which were to come out of the churning of the sea.

  • This month holds significance since this churning exercise was done in the month of SHRAVAN MAAS.
  •  This was also done to please the Goddess Lakshmi – the Goddess of Wellness and fortune.
  • Chuurning was  also done to get nectar as a reward from churning of sea.
  • Initially, the Gods and Demons had agreed to share the nectar amongst each other.
  • The sea churning was done by Snake Vasuki (which adores Lord Shiva’s neck) while Sumeru Parvat was the used on which Vasuki was fastened to help churning by the Gods and the Demons.
  • After churning there came 14 types of things of immense utility. These included most precious stones.
  • Halahal (the most virulent poison). Both the Gods and Demons did not know how to get rid of the poison since it could destroy every living being on the earth.
  • Here too Lord Shiva came to the succour of both the Gods and the Demons. He took hold of the poison pot containing dangerous poison and did not drink this dangerous poison but kept it in his throat which became blue due to which Lord Shiva too is termed as Neelkanth.
  •  By so doing, Lord Shiva delivered the world off the sure destruction with the Halahal.
  •  This is the reason why we call Him as the saviour of the living world of ours.
  •  In essence, this is the reason why we consider this month as the most auspicious one since our LORD SHIVA saved the living world from sure death in the month of SHRAVAN MAAS.
  •  In order to control the bad effect of poison, he had to wear crescent moon for its cool effect on His head along with holy water of Ganges in order to cool in order to reduce the effect of poison. All these events showcases to us all that for saving the living world from sure death He could even take any step.

The CHURNING OF SEA took place in the month of Shravan  and particularly on Shravan Shukrawar (Friday) and Shaniwar (Saturday), these are considered as the most auspicious. Today being the first Monday of this most significant event, we consider this month as the most important for the entire humanity.

As Monday is most auspicious day, the devouts keep fast for keeping the body and mind pure besides worshipping the Lord Shiva for getting his bountiful blessings. On this day, the newly married girls perform Mangala Gauri Vrata on Tuesdays during this month. The chanting of OM NAMON SHIVAYE with sincerity will earn us His blessings for us. Even repeatedly chanting of AUM or OM will be of immense value for the devotees. Therefore, this month is construed as the most auspicious of all the months put together since our it is the month on which our BHOLA JI blesses His devotees. Even Lord Vishnu too is worshipped in this month with the Mantra OM NAMON BHAGWATE VASU DEVAYE NAMON; so much is the importance of this month.

OUR TRIGGERSS

OUR TRIGGERS

Sometimes we are over-whelmed
By the odd behavior of others around
Other times, we are distressed
By the negativity in abundance
Which may generate repulsive feelings
Thereby we get huge upsurge in our emotions
Which impact our body
Mind and even soul hugely!

There are unethical people
Whose business is to generate negative feelings
Wherever they put their feet on.

Whereas there are the ones
Who weave a feeling
Of positivity thus create sound ambiance
Wherever they put their feet on
Such people are like spice in the curry
Which makes the curry tasty.

The parental triggers are known to all and sundry
While their offspring do well in studies
And then when their career graph goes northwards
They reflect a feeling of satiety with abundance of joy
On their facial appearances.

But when their children are ineffective in their studies
And the career graph goes just southwards
Their parents too feel anxious
About their unworthy wards!

Triggers will surely be there for us in our lives
But we’ve to make sincere efforts
Thru self-composure
That these triggers
Ought not affect us, in any way
And flow out
Like water flows on the even surface
Serene bereft of any noise!
As these pay us a visit oftentime.

When we’ve total control over our mind and senses
And are not overly impacted by our emotions
Which anyhow will remain paying a visit to us
But ward off anything
And everything
Which dares visit us at regular intervals, no frills anyway.

ON OUR TRIGGERS

In essence, there are some triggers which make us reactive whenever we take offence or become optimally emotional about an event or incident such as; go into shell of our own making or become too much stressed or react with anger or distress, or sarcasm etc. In other words, we get survival mode or adaptive response of a person to avoid danger.

REASONS FOR OUR TRIGGERS

Emotional trigger may be due to any reason, it results in change in our attitude and behavior resulting in emotional reaction will follow. This may be in the form of anger, distress, panic reaction or any other form. Trigger is thus an automatic reaction in response to stimulus. This trigger may lead to frustration, aggressiveness, anxiety, etc. Then there is specific trigger for specific stimulus created by a particular place or a thing. It may produce a feeling of joy or disappointment or excitement etc. It proves that different situations and conditions produce different triggers if we do not be adaptive to change. It also proves that our trigger depends on the strength of our mind resulting in either surrender or flight.

PARENTAL TRIGGERS

It has been observed that due to lockdown conditions owing to Covid-19 pandemic, there were business losses and job losses. During to this, the formal studies of the students suffered immeasurably. Presently, while the formal schooling has started yet the hangover of the trauma created by the infection still persists. It will take some time more to be adaptive to change.

PEOPLE WHO MAKE US HAPPY WHILE SOME TOXIC PERSON’S PRESENCE TRIGGERS OUR ANGER

I happened to meet one School Principal Mr. Jay Prakash. We waited for him for more than 30 minutes while he was teaching his students. We were feeling quite anxious since we had other commitments too. When he reached his office, his aura and presence was enough to create a positive ambiance for us all. Subsequently, his interactions impressed us optimally. We totally forgot that we waited for him at all!  A joyful feeling indeed. This is first case scenario.

Contrarily, there are toxic people who spread negativism where so ever they go. It is reflected from their exaggerated sense of importance and demeanor. It is sufficient to create negative triggers in the people around. This is the second case scenario.

SOME UNWANTED MEMORIES REMAIN PESTERING US

The unwanted or inappropriate memories of deaths and other episodes such as uncomfortable incidents of being rejected for employment or found unsuitable for marriage, or any irrational behavior of others remain haunting us whenever we remember them or are reminded by somebody else. Bad experiences in our life too when reminded generate dreadful reaction from us, of course, in consonance with the intensity of our experiences. Even unjust treatment of being ignored or feeling unwanted by those to whom we love meted out to us remain on the disc of our memory these and other sordid incidents remain with us became the cause of trigger.

IN OFFICES THE SUBORDINATES DO FEEL ANGUISHED AT THE BEHAVIOUR OF THEIR BOSSES

There are occasions when we make others feel small by our utterance. Sometimes unsolicited or uncalled for comments make us reactive. We may not reflect such affects outwardly but inwardly we feel disgraced. It so happened that while a staff member wanted to give presentation to the Manager about an urgent discussion impinging on an important contract, at that the Manager was busy discussing something which could have been postponed after sometime. Without knowing about the reason of his presence in the office, the Manager in a fit of rage told him to go out and wait till he is free from the current discussions. The concerned person got totally flummoxed, got stressed bordering on anxiety that if the matter was not discussed urgently, the organization will lose an important project. Such things do happen in our day to day routines and the concerned persons have to bear the brunt of the consequence. Therefore, dejection is the natural corollary.

IRRATIONAL AND UNHEALTHY CRITICISM

I was pained when I saw a conceived boss irrationally criticizing his subordinate in front of other employees knowing full well that his criticism was irrational. I saw the feeling of insult/slight writ large on his face. Such incidents are de-motivating to

WHEN WE ARE REMINDED OF OUR FOLLY, WE FEEL NON-PLUSSED AND ASHAMED

The taste of this emotional upsurge was observed when a well known leader was reminded of his folly of not solving their problems when he was a minister and now he was visiting their homes for seeking votes.

WE FEEL DISPRESSED WHEN SOMEBODY PASSES INSULTING REMARKS EITHER OF OUR COMPLEXION OR COLOUR ETC

I saw the colour of her cheeks change when she was reminded of her black complexion; so much so was the effect on her that she started weeping. There are some persons who do not lose any opportunity in pointing fingers at others so that they feel small.

LOWERING THE MODESTY OF FEMALE IMMORAL ACT

When a person spoils the modesty of a female, we can see the change in her demeanor, and in many cases, the concerned girl go to any heightened emotions and my take ultimate step of committing suicide if she is not given proper counseling session.

WHAT A GRAVE SITUATION IS CREATED WHEN GROWN UP CHILDREN LEAVE THEIR OLD-PARENTS IN OLDAGE HOMES?

All of us must have heard of some grown up progenies sending their parents to old-age homes when their children are independent financially and otherwise and do not need their assistance at all.

REMINSCING PAST SORDDID EXPERIENCES MAY BE A TRIGGER

During and after Coronnvirus pandemic, there were so many people who There are the ones who have lost their dear ones too. Whenever somebody reminds them of their state of predicament, they get highly surcharged with emotion. Reminder about the past unfortunate events are also huge trigger for a change.

AVOIDANCE OF TRIGGER POINTS

It has been observed that there are some people who are hell bent on spoiling your day by their thoughts and actions. Such people are negative in their orientation, do not have value system, are not adaptive to change and cribbing at the slightest pretext is their pastime. Our effort should be to keep a healthy distance from them. If it is not possible to avoid them then we should not be provoked by their intimidation or coercive tactics.

SOME REMEDIES FOR KEEPING THE TRIGGERS AWAYS

First and foremost thing is to find out the cause of trigger. How and why it got sparked? Introspection as to why we should not remember such triggers which keep us bothering? Having found the cause or source of a trigger, we can conclusively ward off those trigger and reach to a zone of clarity. This could meaningfully be done through self-effort in concert with body, mind and soul.

WHEN A TRIGGER VISITS, WE HAVE TO ENGAGE IN ANY ACTIVITY

It should never be forgotten that even if we have forgotten the triggers which emanated in the past, it is not possible that we shall not be experience the triggers in the present moment or in coming future. These will remain visiting us and we’ve to ward them off with our mental strength and self-determination.

QUESTION THE TRIGGER

The best course of action would be to get inquisitive about the visiting triggers and even take a dig at them but this be done through mental exercise and not to showcase the same in public glare.

CAN ESCAPIST ROUTE HELP?

It is a fact that ‘TIME’ is a great healer. Many of our bounds are cured with the medicine of passing time as nothing remains permanent this trigger will also pass with the passage of time. But care ought to be exercised that every trigger cannot be swept under the carpet. These may haunt us sometimes afterward and that too with great ferocity, therefore, the best course is to deal with them as and when situation arises – postponing hardly solve any problem.

LET GO IS BETTER OPTION

When nothing works, ‘let go’ works better. Therefore, better option is to forget the incident as a bad dream and live your life peacefully without let or hindrance.

BEING SELF-CONSCIOUS OR SELF AWARE

We should be self aware in which our potentials and weaker areas should be made known to us and devise every strategy to bridge the gap between our potentials and weaker areas. Then having control over our mind and senses can make a huge difference to us. This way, we shall be our own masters and not get swayed by anything under the sun.

KEEPING AN RECEPTIVE TO CHANGE

If nothing works, then accept whatever comes. Think that you are your own master. Live your own life freely without outer influences or controversies.

MAKE FRIENDS WITH WELL MEANING PEOPLE

It is well said, a man is known by the company he takes. Therefore, have a company of good friends and well wishers. As far as possible, toxic relations should be kept at arm’s length. Be sincere in your behavior and create a happy environ wherever you go.

WE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS

Importantly, while our dealings are above board with abundance of clarity in our thoughts and actions, there is nothing to fear. Specter of fear visits us when we have doubtful credentials. These doubtful credentials will remain haunting us till such time we attain clarity in our vision and mission. Therefore, we have to be responsible or  accountable for all our actions.

MEDITATION AND PRAYERS ALONG WITH YOGIC EXERCISES COULD MAKE HUGE DIFFERENCE

It has been seen that we can get rid of our triggers by strengthening our response system by toughening our body and mind through focused attention.  This could conveniently be done through Yogic exercises, meditation / prayers. In other words, leading a spiritually oriented way of living makes huge difference in  our life. By living thus, we can enhance our patience, tolerance, persistence, endurance along with all the positive traits put together.

HAPPY PRAKASH PURAV OF SHRI GURU HARKRISHN JI SAHIB

SHRI GURU HARKRISHAN JI SAHIB

HAPPY PRAKASH PURAV OF SHRI GURU HARKKRISHAN JI SAHIBAN

Our AKALPURAKH is the most benevolent one
He sends the most venerable messengers to this planet
Who makes a huge difference by spreading the message of wisdom
And render selfless succor to the masses without even caring about their own.

This messenger of Omnipotent God was born on 23rd July 1656
To Sri Guru Har Rai & mother Sulakni ji
He was chosen Eighth of Ten Sikh Gurus Jis’
Succeeding his illustrious father Sri Guru Rai Ji
Surprisingly when he was merely of five years of age!
The youngest amongst all the Guru Sahibans
Being most gracious and most benevolent one at heart
After leaving his elder brother Baba Ram Rai
Due to his collision with Mughal empire.

There was an incredible incident in Gurudwara
Near Ambala at Panjokhra
A Sanskrit learned person named Pandit Lal Chand challenged the Guruji
To explicitly explain the Sanstrit verses from Bhagwad Gita
Lo & behold, Guruji just pointed a stick at Gangu Jheevar
An illiterate with no literary knowledge to bank on – a total blank one
Surprised everyone present
He spoke sermons of Bhagwad Gita to the perfection.
Thence Guruji came to Delhi at Gurudwara Balaji
Where a large number of people came to see respected Guruji
But as ill luck would have it
There was, in and around Delhi, there was spread of smallpox epidemics
Guruji with his soft emotional feelings
Brimming with soft emotions for the sufferings
Took upon himself the task of curing ailment bereft of any bias!
In the process became too weak to move
Refused taking any treatment for curing himself!
Called for five coins and a coconut for the purpose
Waved his hand three times in the air
And told that his successor be found in Bakala in Punjab
Thence he left his body at the age of seven!
He lived for others and left his mortal body so that others could live
He advised his disciples/sangat
To respect the will of Almighty God
And praise Him and do not feel disappointed
At his untimely end was due to service (Seva) of hapless ones
Examples of which we find rare in the annals of history.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is built
At the place which was gifted by Raja of Rajesthan
After Sri Guruji, with his mystic power
Fulfilled Raja’s litmus test of recognizing
His queen amongst several ladies lining
Surprise of all surprises, Guruji did this without even a moment losing.

Whereas Guruji provided succor to epidemic stricken
And left for his ultimate journey
Though less in age as year count
Yet mature in wisdom which are reckoned prime
These traits are bestowed by our Wahe Guru Ji
May Guruji’s legacy remain inspiring us humans
Generations after generations.

HAPPY GURU PURV TO ALL

It is significant to mention that Shri Guru Harkrishan Singh Sahib Ji is also most respectfully called as the Bal Guruji since he succeeded his father Shri Guru Rai Ji, the Seventh Guru, at a very tender age of five years. He was born on 23rd July 1656 (in very pious month of Shravan as per traditional calendar) in Kiratpur to mother Sulakhni and Guu Har Rai, as per traditional calendar he was born in Shravan month and became Guru on 7th October 1661.

His period as Guru remained only for two year, 5 months and 24 days since he passed away on 8th April 1664 owing to smallpox which he contracted due to his services (Seva) to those people who suffered from smallpox and cholera. He is also very reverently known as Baba Bakale too.

It is also relevant to mention that Baba Ram Rai (aged 13 years), the elder son of Guru Har Rai was sent to Delhi to explain one verse of Adi Ganth, which Emperor Aurangzeb considered as against the Muslims.

In order to please Aurangzeb, he changed the verse which made Guu Har Rai angry and he excommunicated his elder son and thus nominated his younger son Harkishan to succeed as the next Guru of Sikhs (as 8th Guru). Thereupon, Aurangzeb called Guru Harkrishan to Delhi to meet him. However, the meeting was cancelled since while serving people suffering from smallpox and cholera he himself contracted smallpox disease. He died on 8th April 1664. Afterwards, Guru Tegh Bahadur was identified as 9th Guru of Sikhs.

While going to Delhi to meet Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, he stayed at Panjokhra Sahib Gurdwara in Ambala (Haryana). He also stayed at Ropar, Banur and Raipura where he spread the message of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. At Delhi, he stayed in a bungalow of Raja Jai Singh which is presently known as Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.

During his stay in Delhi, he served the people suffering from epidemic of smallpox and cholera. Besides he offered them water from a well at his house which had a magical effect on those suffering from the dread disease. While taking care of the patients suffering from smallpox and cholera, he himself contracted the symptoms of smallpox, had high fever due to which he died but not before curing the people suffering from dreaded disease. It is also relevant to mention that he bestowed cure to the suffering people without any bias.

The devotees visit Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in order to seek the blessings of the Shri Guru Harkrishnan Sahib Ji (Also called as Bal Guru). The devouts get their wishes fulfilled after their visit to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib.

GURU is a Sanskrit word meaning master, teacher or a preacher for whom we have huge respect. Guru is the one who removes our ignorance from the knowledge (Gyan) from Guru Ji thus we get enlightemen from his teachings. Guru Ji is the One who is knower of religious gyan or the one who transmits wisdom to the disciples. In fact Guru is a saintly person who enlightens the disciples with knowledge absolute and changes our lives with the enlightenment.

The following are the Ten Gurus of Sikhs:-

Guru Nanak Devji (1469-1539).
Guru Angadji (1504-52).
Guru Amardasji (1552-74).
Guru Ramdasji ( 1574-81).
Guru Arjan Devji (1581-1606).
Guru Har Gobindji (1606-45)
Guru Har Raiji (1630-61).
Guru Harkrishanji (1661-64).
Guru Teg Bahadurji (1675-1708).
Guru Gobind Singhji (1675-1708).

Shri Guru Harkrishan ji followed the principles dear to his father Shri Guru Har Raiji. On the other hand, his elder brother named Baba Ram Rai, was disinherited due to his anti-Guru Ghar activities.Guru Harkrishan was of tender age of only FIVE years when he attained Guruship which is obviously an achievement in spirituality which very few attained taking into consideration the human history.
In order to test the knowledge of Guru Harkrishan, Pandit Lal Chand challenged Guruji for his knowledge of Bhagwad Gita’s philosophy. With Guruji’s blessings, an illiterate person named Chhaju Ram expounded the philosophy of Gita with ease. Due to this miracle, Pandit Lal Chand got influenced and became a true Sikh after knowing about the knowledge and mystic power of the Guru.

The decision of Guru Har Rai made his elder son infuriated so much so that he complained this matter to Emperor Aurangzeb about this decision. A message was consequently conveyed to the young Guru to meet him. In the first instant, Guruji was reluctant to meet the emperor but finally decided to meet him in Delhi. Emperor wanted to test the acumen and wisdom of Guruji. He had two large trays; in one some precious ornaments, clothes and toys were kept and in other holy man’s cloak and other things were kept. These two trays were presented to Guru Harkrishan ji for choosing one of these. He chose the second one, thus proving his holiness.

While Guru Harkrishanji was staying in Delhi, (A Gurdwara named Bangla Sahib was built where he stayed serving common masses without any discrimination). At that time, unfortunately, there was smallpox and cholera epidemic consequently there were many deaths. Guruji attended these epidemic stricken people thus exposing himself to these dreaded diseases. In this way, he served the mankind without any bias; of caste and creed, without caring for his own life – that is rarest of rare selfless service found in the annals of history.

Guru Har Rai ji passed away on 20th October 1661, thereupon, despondency engulfed amongst the disciples. But Guru Harkrishan consoled his disciples and advised them to abide by the wishes of the Almighty God. He also told his disciples to sing the praises of God and not to weep or feel disappointed.

Guru Harkrishan exhorted his disciples to have virtue of patience in life. He had an extraordinary ability to explain from the passages of Granth Sahib. In this way, Guru Harkrishan kept the legacy of Gurus intact. So much so he was immersed in humanitarian task that he himself was seized with high fever which turned into an attack of smallpox which resulted in his confinement to bed for many days.
While serving the suffering people from the epidemic day and night, suddenly one day Guru Harkrishan, due to incessant assistance of the people suffering from epidemics of smallpox and cholera. He developed symptoms of fiver. The fever turned to the beginning of an attack of smallpox symptoms, due to which he was perforce confined to bed for several days. The Guru’s tender body deteriorated by the disease and thereafter, Akalpurakh called him for fulfilling some other mission at His abode.

The teachings of SHRI HARKISHAN are:

• Render seva (service) to the people suffering without any expectation while rendering assistance.

• Spread the message as enshrined in holy Gurbani and follow the holy scriptures while rendering seva to remove their sufferings.

• While rendering seva to remove the sufferings, we should not care for our own life as was done by Guruji in Delhi. He tried to alleviate the sufferings of the hapless people suffering from smallpox and cholera, he himself contracted smallpox. He developed feverish too due to which he breathed his last thus immortalized himself.

• One of the stellar lessons from the life of Guru Hakrishnaji is that age is not the consideration for getting knowledge, it is the grace of Gurus’ and the inner potential you possess which counts.

• Enlightenment is attained when we focus on the knowledge contained in the scriptures while following the value system imparted by our parents.

Finally, we should have the traits of patience, tolerance, compassion and a spirit of sacrifice, even if it is ultimate sacrifice.

MOVE ON, AND STOP NOT

MOVE ON, AND STOP NOT

NATURE MOVES ON AND DOES NOT STOP, THEN, WHY WE SHOULD STOP OUR MOVEMENT

Move on, and stop not
Since nobody flogs a horse who is dead.

The Mother Nature stops not
Its functions continue without any interruption
The day changes into night
And vice versa is also right
The seasons change
With absolute regularity
Along with changes which take place periodically
In the climate without having others sovereignty
Sometimes it is hot, so sweltering
Other times it is cold, so freezing
And sometimes it is muggy, so oppressing
And other times and dry spell,  so threatening
These are dynamic plays of Mother Nature at all times moving.

Move on. and stop not
Since lifeless has no price-tag.

Our body’s mechanism
Does not stop even a bit of time
Even when we’re in sound sleep
Functions like breathing
Our heart functioning
Our blood circulation et al
Hardly atop even in deep slumber
Then why be stock-still
In any way in our thoughts and deeds.

😊❤❤💖🎶👍
MOVE ON, AND STOP NOT

ESSENTIALLY, Mother Nature (Prakriti) does not stop its routine functions. It becomes the instrument in change. For example change of climate, change of day and night, change of seasons etc. This way, the Mother Nature (Prakarti) directs all the natural phenomena. It Prakariti stops, every living and non-living things would stop their respective functions.

In Bhagwad Gita it has been mentioned that all activities are carried out by the three modes of material nature. But in ignorance (Which could be termed as static state of body, mind and soul), the soul, gets deluded by false identification with the body, considers itself as the doer. This happens when we adopt egocentric tendencies in our day to day functioning.

NATURE CHANGES ON AND ACCEPT NOBODY’S CONTROL

THE MOVEMENT IN OUR LIFE DRIVES OUR DORMANT ENERGY FROM OUR SYSTEM

If there is no momentum dynamism in our life, there is a state of indolence and immobility. This way, the characteristics of mobility or onward march just gets stopped. This way, the body requires support system to move on and ultimately the body becomes lifeless bereft of any sustenance.

CHANGE IS THE LAW OF NATURE

We have to change according to environs in which we live. If we do not tend to change then the change will change us and its implications would be worst. Not changing means being against the laws of nature.

THE BODY FUNCTIONING DOES NOT STOP TILL WE DIE

Then we have the example of body function. For instance, metabolism is the intricate function of our body and the process of conversion of food into energy. There are some function like blood circulation, functioning of our heart etc. are done automatically. There are some functions like breathing, sleeping, seeing, hearing etc are done are deliberately performed by us. These are done through the medium of mind, body senses mechanism. But in all these, Mother Nature plays a significant roll. If our body stops breathing, we cannot survive for long. It goes to show whether an action is deliberate or prompted by Mother Nature, without dynamism nothing works. Immobility means sure death.

THE CHIEF ARCHITECT OF OUR BODY FUNCTION IS NATURE

And the architect of all the body functions is Prakriti in order to create energy in us for performing variety of functions. The Nature is also functions as Material energy (which includes earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and ego) which has three modes (Gunas) comes into play with movement of our body, mind and soul:-

(a) Goodness (Sattva); Good traits in an individual.
(b) Passion (Rajas). Bravery in thoughts and actions.
(c) Ignorance (Tamas). Lack of knowledge.

All the above functions are done by the Material Energy or Mother Nature and are attained through our Karmic deeds. It is also a fact that everybody is bestowed with destiny but to realize our destiny we have to perform tangible Karma – most sincere effort one for pleasing outcome. It is not attained through wishful thinking. On the other hand, if we are full of ego, then, our soul gets sullied. It considers itself as a doer of everything we transact. By so doing, our soul gets entangled in doership thus identifies itself with the body, mind and senses. In effect our soul’s function is to direct body-mind-intellect for tangible resuts. Therefore, mobility is good but this mobility should be in the righteous course and not the directionless.

MOTHER NATURE HAS A PREDOMINANT ROLE IN EVERYTHING WE SEE AND DEPEND ON

LIFE ENERGY COMES THROUGH MOVEMENT

It has been seen that an engine which is periodically used and properly serviced is always road worthy. Similar is the case with running water. It does not stale or get polluted soon when it is running. On the other hand water which stagnates gets polluted very soon and starts giving foul smell soon.

OUR ALMIGHTY GOD POSSESSES PSYCHIC MOBILIITY

Our Almighty God, due to his Omnipotence and Omniscience characteristics along with His mobility creates, evolves and destroys for further creation. In Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma is responsible for creation, Lord Vishnu is evolves what has been created and Lord Shiva destroys for further creation and for this all of them use their psychic mobility. He is constantly on the move. He is neither stationary nor static. He is a ever moving One. Due to constant moving, the Supreme Entity, everything including new galaxies are being produced and the old ones go to oblivion. His power is mystic.

REGULAR BODY MOVEMENT IS A MUST FOR MAINTAINING OUR BODY FIT AND FINE

If we do not exercise properly routinely, our body constitution becomes prone to diseases such as obesity with high sugar level, heart related diseases, high blood pressure etc. Therefore, leading a sedentary lifestyle or remaining inactive leads to lethargy or weariness or fatigue and a feeling of distancing from work which require intensive body movement. All these aspects lead to depletion of energy, due to which our daily job routines get hampered. Ultimately, in the long run, depletion of energy and lethargic feeling may dissipate our energy thus affecting our immune system. If regular exercise is not done then brisk walking should be the norm but remain static brings about our downfall physically, mentally and spiritually.

MOVEMENT IS THE BASIC CHARACTERISTIC OF EVERYTHING

Even cells of human beings are in a state of motion. Nothing in this universe is stationary: the earth moves around the sun, the sun, together with the entire solar system, moves. The movement is the fundamental characteristic of each and every thing.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MOBILITY DIMINISHES

When the movement wanes in any way, then, the life-force too stops functioning gradually. And when flow of life-force stops altogether then we become static or inert or meet our end. Therefore, movement or flow is synonymous with life and the depletion of life-force completely ends our existence on this earth.

STAGNANCY LEADS TO ACCUMULATION OF FILTH WHICH STARTS GIVING FOUL SMELL

In order to have an orderly life, it is imperative that we sincerely try to make endeavour to remove the accumulation of filth which accumulates in us otherwise this stench will suffocate us and end of existence. If we do not mobility in our life, then, our life on earth would be purposeless. Our boat of life would be roaming in the whirl-wind of uncertainty.

In conclusion, it is imperative to mention that our dynamism determines our place in the society. If we sit tight without any movement and continue cursing our destiny, then, we shall not be living a joyful living. We’ve to showcase our determination to be dynamic and ‘move on, and stop not’ should be our motto in our life.

HAPPY GURU PURNIMA TO ALL – A RESPECTFUL HOMAGE TO OUR GURU

HAPPY GURU PURNIMA  :    HOMAGE TO OUR GURU/ PREACHER/TEACHER

GURU PURINIMA

Bhagwad Gita has rightly said: Learn the Truth by approaching a spiritual master – the one who assists you in enlightening us. We can inquire from him with reverence and render service unto him. Such an enlightened Saint can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the Truth.

A GURU IS A COMPETENT MASTER WHO ENLIGHTENS US AND REMOVES OUR IGNORANCE

MY REVERED GURU : PARMAHANS PARAMDYAL NANGALI NIWASI

Guru Purnima is the most auspicious day
A sacred one of immense significance
Which is celebrated by us with great reverence
In the memory of our most venerated one
Termed as Guru or teacher or preacher
Who ensures our spiritual orientation
Thus show us the path of enlightenment
So that we may always follow righteous path
And not move away from the path of truth
And how best to follow the ethical and moral instructions
Given by our Gurus, the most venerable ones.

Word Guru, has two syllables
Gu and Ru
Gu stands for darkness or ignorance (Agyanta)
Which engulfs us when we’ve no control over our mind
Ru means remover of darkness or ignorance
Thus bestows us Love & Light of value so enormous.

Firstly Guru enters our psyche
Thoroughly understands
Our potentials and weaker areas
Thence through suggestions
And enlightened guidance
Makes suggestion to make amendments needed
For effecting transformation
With heavy dose of love and affection
After guidance in abundance
At every step in our lives
The Guru controls the oars of our boat
And steers clear our boat from violent currents of time
And saves us from the incoming bad omens
Which may come without prior warning.

When we are utterly confused
When there is no way out
When everywhere we see dark clouds
When we’re in the state of immobility
When we need somebody
Who could provide us mobility
And thus remove the prevailing inactivity
From our midst
And provide us much needed succour
Assist us provide self-realization
Thus save us from the lurking foe
Which is around the horizon
Who can this bestow us guidance?
Except our most venerable one, o Thee Guru Ji.

Therefore, Guru is the One
Who helps us in removing darkness from within us
And infuses knowledge of immense importance
And bestows enlightenment (Prabodhann)
He has ocean of knowledge (Gyan)
Acquired through severe penance
For days, months and years on ends
Thence becomes a reservoir of knowledge (Gyan)
From whom even a drop of water
From His reservoir
Can change our destiny
Thus enlivening our lives
Thus making it more purposeful
Guru thus could be termed as a spiritual preacher
Who possesses awareness of highest order
Acquired with focused meditation and prayers.

Guru is a true Karma Yogi
Which He imbibes on the principles of Karma Yoga
Thus earned for Himself the category of most evolved
And enlightened soul
The purpose of whom is to enlighten His disciples
By transferring knowhow of highest order
Either through Yogic postures
Or through spiritual teachings
Bestow the traits of positive thinking
While following our spiritual oriented existence
While we are filled with sorrow and grief
With discontent writ large
He infuses spiritual longings of highest order
Along with making their disciples aware
About eternal reality or truth about God
Along with teaching what actually is the purpose of our existence
On this beautiful planet.

GURU PURNIMA  :  A RESPECTFUL HOMAGE TO OUR GURU/ PREACHER/TEACHER

Guru Purnima or Poornima which is a sacred day and has special significance since it is celebrated to remember our Guru who changes our destinies by imparting righteous knowledge which removes our ignorance from our midst.

This day is celebrated on the occasion of Poornima (When the moon is full). This day is commemorated in the name of our most revered one;  our Guru or the Master who helps us acquire knowledge by removing ignorance. He inculcates in us the traits of forbearance, patience, enlightenment besides teaches us how best to remain balanced in any situation and condition.

A TRUE GURU IS A COMPETENT MASTER WHO REMOVES DARKNESS FROM OUR MIDST

The Guru infuses the traits which are beneficial for us when we are facing the onslaught of ill-omens.  Our Guru’s insightful knowledge can deliver us from the difficult times and shows us the correct path of enlightenment.

A COMPETENT MASTER CAN TRANSFORM OUR LIFE

We can also learn how best to transform our lives by caring and sharing what we have – i.e. to be compassionate to others and fulfill the needs of needy ones. All these positive traits can only be taught by our Guru. He is the one who is aware about our potentials and drawbacks and focuses how best to remove our weaker areas through persuasions and suggestions.

GURU IMPORTS US KNOWLEDGE TO REMOVE OUR IGNORANCE FROM OUR MIDST

Our respected Guru is the one who imparts us knowledge and through the medium of knowledge. we can remove our ignorance and remove darkness. It is also a truth that Absolute Truth cannot be known merely through penance or contemplation. There should be a Competent Master, the one who could understand us ins and outs and make it possible to inculcate changes in us for our holistic growth and development. It is simply because we ourselves inculcate the traits of self-awareness wholly without the active assistance of our Spiritual Guru.

SIGNIFICANCE OF GURU IN VEDAS

Even Vedic scriptures tell us about the significance of our Guru. It tells us that we should service our Guru with purity of mind, remove doubts where there are the ones and ensure happiness by the knowledge imparted by the scriptures and for this our Guru could be of immense utility. But this knowledge comes to us only when we surrender to our Guru. By so doing, we can be liberated from the drawbacks and attachments we have cultivated in our life.

SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE

It is a fact that spiritual knowledge can make a world of difference in us. For acquiring knowledge, we have to perform our duty sincerely  and even sacrifice our comforts. For acquiring know-how in order to remove ignorance from within us, we have to leave so many things to gain  knowledge, the natural question that follows is, how can we obtain spiritual knowledge?

A TRUE GURU IMPARTS SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE TO US

A true Guru or a True Master, transfers the spiritual knowledge to remove ignorance or darkness which engulfs us. It should always be remembered that spiritual knowledge cannot be obtained through mechanical teaching which we learn from formal institutions. It is obtained through changing the mindset of an individual through the sincere efforts of a Guru or a preacher or a teacher who is knowledgeable and knows how best to impart the knowledge to the disciple in order to effect holistic growth in them. The disciples too were disciplined and used to have respect for their Gurus. Mother is considered to be the first Guru who helps his disciples to attain necessary knowledge and gain spiritual orientation in order to know the Absolute Truth

LORD SHIVA IS OUR GURU IF WE FOLLOW SPIRITUAL PATH  IN OUR LIFE

  • The significance of Guru is felt more since Lord Shiva is considered to be the first Guru (Aadi Guru). It is also important to say that His disciples were Seven Rishis of Sapta Rishis. It is also a considered fact that if we want to consider Lord Shiva as our Guru, we can perform the following:

We can perform Prana Prathishta on the Shiva Linga then we offer sincere prayer to Shiva to reside in that particula LINGA after performing Abhisekha to the Linga with water and then with milk and honey.

  • Then we can offer offerings to the Linga.
  • Then we can offer our sincerest prayers to Lord Shiva with a sincerest request to be your Guru with a promise that you will be the best disciple to Him.

By so doing, we can consider Lord Shiva to be our TRUE GURU and lead a spiritually oriented life. Be humble, following simple way of living, be compassionate to others while desisting from anger, greed, lust, bitterness, jealousy and all other negative traits which soil our life. By so doing, we can certainly have LORD SHIVA AS OUR GURU.

TURMOILS IN SRI LANKA

TURMOILS IN SRI LANKA

In essence, it has been observed that the countries whose leaders at the helm of affairs think more about their own interests and less about the countries of whose affairs they handle then the resultant dilemma would not be far to seek. The mismanagement and inept  handling of available funds results in downward slide in any economy. This happened in case of Sri Lanka too.

A PERSON AT THE HELM OF AFFAIRS SHOULD COMMAND RESPECT

It is also a fact that a nation’s affairs cannot be handled by wishful thinking. It calls for jointmanship and sincere concrete plan of action by the Government in which every minister is accountable for the ministry he/she is dealing. If anything goes amiss, efforts should be made to plug the loopholes, however, nothing should be done to sweep aside the failings under the carpet. For this to be meaningful,  there should be efficient handling of all the affairs by a trusted team of economists and policy makers, of course, under the stewardship of a leader who commands respect of all.

POWER VACUUM CAN UNDO ALL THE GOOD WORK DONE IN THE PAST

Thought of forming a Government of all parties is being considered but only time will tell about its success. A strict discipline in spending along with economic prudence in allocation of funds for factors of production on different heads is the need of hour. Sri Lanka has the abundance of natural resources along with enterprising human resources. Let these factors of production be exploited so that Sri Lanka comes out from the morass of their own making.

POWER VACUUM CAN RUIN AN ECONOMY

Evidently, there is a power vacuum. The President has fled the country and the PM has already resigned while his house has been torched by the protesting people. In this sort of sordid and unpredictable scenario, the best option, first of all, is to maintain peace and establish modicum of law and order.

PRESENT STATE OF DISMAL SITUATION

Taking into account the present predicament in Sri Lanka, every  right thinking person is concerned about the chaotic condition prevailing in Sri Lanka where the general masses have revolted against their own establishment. The President has fled the country and the PM along with some ministers have already resigned.

MANMADE ECONOMIC MESS

The reckless borrowing resorted by the Government and not using the borrowed funds for productive assets creation resulted in present chaos. The loans taken from countries viz China on stiff terms and conditions and difficulty in repayment of such loans with high rate of interest is a contributing factor. Though countries like India has loaned some money yet the malaise runs deeper which cannot be alleviated with sops from here and there. The IMF and other financial institutions including countries like India and other countries should come forward for shoring up the economy of Sri Lanka.

MANMADE DEBT TRAP

The external debt in case of Sri Lanka averaged to around 47,424.42 USD Millions with effect from 2012 to 2019 and presently it is more than this since interest servicing will also come into play. In this, the debt from China is 9.83% (3.4 Billion USD) as on 2019 which again has increased because of stiff rate of interest. The debt servicing could not happen due to decrease in foreign remittances due to Covid-19 pandemic conditions.

REASON FOR ANGER OF GENERAL MASSES

The anger amongst  the general masses is due to the following factors:-

1. Presently there is food inflation to the tune of 57.4% due to which some people are not able to meet two square  meals.

2. There is fuel shortage for transports due to which supply chain got disrupted. No oil exporting country is willing to give fuel without surety of payment. Due to dwindling of foreign exchange reserves, fuel is not being imported causing problem for the country.

3. China Debt trap. Sri Lanka imported goods which increased the debt and in the absence of paying capacity, resulted in debt servicing difficult in the long run. Then the hidden conditions on different projects too accentuated the economic situation.

4. Commercial borrowing. Then there was the problem of commercial borrowing by Sri Lanka but this borrowed funds were not used to create productive assets so as to create employment avenues or avenues for enhancing production in agriculture sector or tourism or textiles etc.

5. Tourism industry. It is a fact that 25% of Sri Lanka comes from tourism. Due to Coronavirus pandemic, this industry suffered hugely which is the huge contributing factor for downward slide in the economic strait of Sri Lanka.

6. Servicing outstand payment problem. There is a increased problem of debt servicing to the upward of 35 USD. This created chaos and confusion in the minds of those in the helm of affairs.

7. Mismanagement of the economy. It is a fact that there was a huge mismanagement of the economy. The borrowings and especially so the commercial borrowing could not be used for creating assets which could enhance employment, increase production and create goods and services both for domestic consumption and for exports. But faulty planning and mismanagement accentuated the problem.

8. Manmade Disaster. There are some decisions by the Government which accentuated the problem in Sri Lanka such as shift focus from fertilizer based factor of production in agriculture to organic farming. Then loans taken from various sources without thinking of debt servicing. Then loan taken were not used to create assets or increase production of goods and services.

The main engines of growth in Sri Lanka which got impacted due to a variety of factors. These are given below:-

1. Export of textile finished products. The lockdown conditions impacted the production therefore export of textile products suffered.

2. Export of rice and other agricultural products. The policy reversal of Government to stop using chemical fertilizer as a factor of production and shifting its focus on organic farming impact production of rice and other agricultural products. With less agricultural produce, not only export suffered but also domestic needs too got adversely affected. This resulted in depletion of food stocks, due to which there was surge of food inflation to 57.4% while inflation of non-food items rose to 30.6% as per the data available.

3. Tourism is the main stay of Sri Lanka. It is a fact that tourism industry is a biggest contributor to the national economy of Sri Lanka. It plays a stellar role to budgetary allocations, earning of foreign exchange along with employment generation. Besides, tourism helped the country in provision of goods and services for running the tourism industry. This factor of economic development suffered due to Covid-19 pandemic because of very less tourists visiting Sri Lanka thus adversely impacting the tourism industry.

4. Export of tea. Due to lockdown conditions during Coronavirus pandemic, export of tea and other items suffered which contributed to the deceleration in forax reserves.

5.. Foreign remittances. Due to Coronavirus pandemic, while all the economies suffered, Sri Lanka could not remain immune to the adverse affects. There were job losses and business losses globally owing to which foreign remittances hitherto done depleted. This aspect too contributed to economy going southward.

ADVERSE EFFECTS OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Sri Lankan economy was also adversely affected by
Covid-19 pandemic as it happened globally. Due to failure of businesses due to lockdown conditions and job retrenchments, the foreign remittances dwindled leading to economic melt-down. In Sri Lanka, as there was no economic activity during lockdown during Coronavirus pandemic, all the above engines of growth too dwindled. The debt servicing with stiff conditions made the economy going southward.

ADVERSE AFFECTS ON AGRICULTURAL DUE TO CHANGE IN AGRICUTURAL PRODUTTION METHOD

The adverse implication of agriculture due to adoption of new method of production, from intensive use of fertilizers to manure based agriculture input as a factor of production. Due to this change as factor of production, the agricultural produce got impacted.

MAIN REASON FOR REVOLT BY THE GENERAL MASSES

The fundamental reason for revolt by the general masses is due to high rate of inflation of all consumer items. The cost of food items including vegetables have increased to disproportional level partly due to faulty agricultural methods of production. Then the stoppage of imports from Ukraine and Russia too is a contributing factor due to ongoing war. The petroleum products are not available to meet the transportation needs. All these factors have contributed to disenchantment in the general masses who are reeling under high rate of unemployment.

The problems started with the loans taken on stiff terms and conditions and commercial loans but these loans were not used for enhancing production capacity and creation of employment opportunities.

HOW ALL THIS HAPPENED?

The countries which rely more on foreign loans and foreign doles cannot progress in any way. Such countries cannot run the affairs (Internally and externally) coherentl. Their smooth economic development cannot be ensured. The loans taken are misappropriated through corrupt practices. This happened in Sri Lanka.

In essence, the resources taken from international Monetary Fund, Asian Development Fund and other concerned should be used for creation of assets including spread of knowledge and activation of economic growth and development.

LESSONS FOR OTHER COUNTRIES

• External loans taken should be utilized for creating productive assets.

• The commercial borrowings, in the first place, should not be taken. If at all taken, then, there should be debit serving as and when required otherwise it will create economic mess. Again, borrowing taken should be used for creation of employment, enhancement in agricultural production and other sectors of production which could help in economic recovery.

• The economic produce in expenditure on unproductive assets should be avoided. Need is to first of all debt servicing and then judiciously use of these funds for production of goods and services.

• The human resources should be taken as an important factor to run the engine of growth. Even in dire economic chaos created by Covid-19 pandemic, some countries took care that they do not fall into debt trap and maintained economic prudence – spending and creation of resources.

• Schemes such as MGNREGA should be launched so that the common man does not suffer during the natural disasters or economic slowdowns etc. This will facilitate the general masses to eke out their daily living for them.

• If and when there is a need of taking hard decisions for stabilizing the economy, steps should be taken after due consideration. These steps should be in tune with the wellness of people in general.

• Every ministry should be held accountable for their sphere of functioning. Anybody found to indulge in corrupt practices should be dealt with according to the law of the land.

EID MUBARAK TO ALL

EID MUBARAK TO ALL

Eid-Al-Adha or Eid-Ul-Adha
Eid-Al-Adha
Or Eid-Ul-Adha
Eid-Ul-Zuha
Or Bakr-Eid simply for us all
Calling this auspicious day
With any name
Makes hardly any difference
Factually, it is a festival of sacrifice
The festival of giving to the needy
Anything considered most costly
Which one has for giving
Thereby solidifying our faith in Almighty God.

Give this day by any name thee may prefer to call

The custom that started
When most venerable Abraham
Offered his only son named Ismail
At the command of Allah
Without even the slightest demur of any sort
A reality check or test
Which God wanted
From devout Abraham
And also his son Ismail
Lo and behold!
After actually offering
Supreme sacrifice
Surprise of surprises
Found a slaughtered lamb!

Meaning the most benevolent God
Tested the love and willpower of Abraham
For Him – the benevolent One
While Abraham was obeying
The commandments of God
Satan made attempts to prevent Abraham
From scarifying his only son
But he did not care to listen to satan
The diverter of our attention from Him and His Commandments.

Instead obeyed the commands of Allah
And left for us all
A message so enduring
God loves those who obey Him
And are ready to sacrifice anything
On His bidding
May this day brings a feeling of self-sacrifice
So that needs of all are met
By distributing love amongst all
Let’s all pray and sacrifice our ego
Which divides humanity from each other

For the overall wellbeing of humankind around the world.

HAPPY EID-AL-ADHA

Thoughts on Eid-al-Adha / Eid-ul-Zuha / Bakr-Eid

Thoughts on Eid-al-Adha / Eid-ul-Zuha / Bakr-Eid – A Holiest Muslim Festival

There are auspicious days occasioned due to some renowned events connected either with religions occasions or any other events of importance or connected with events of international or national importance. This day is the day of sacrifice wherein those who have something to give, share the same with those who do not have much and showcase  empathy.

Eid-al-Adha or Bakr-Eid is connected with event of religious prominence and has gives us message of giving without any expectations, a message which could change our destinies and lifestyle. A positive oriented existence with complete faith on Allah.

Eid means festival and Eid-al-Adha means Festival of Sacrifice or it is termed as Bakr-Eid meaning celebration with the sacrifice of a goat. This festival is celebrated with great solemnity and reverence across the world as a tribute to Prophet Ibrahim’s rock-solid belief in God. He willingly agreed to sacrifice his beloved son Abraham as ordained by God.

Here, Abraham’s love and reverence are of prime importance. Legend has it that Abraham agreed without even the slightest doubt to sacrifice his only promised son named Ismail on the express command of God. God wanted to test the love of Abraham for the general masses. Subsequently, before it could be done, Allah intervened and instead provided Abraham a lamb for the sacrifice that is why this day of sacrifice is also termed as Bakr’Eid. At that time the age of Abraham was 99 years and his son only 13 years.

This was also a test of Ismail’s maturity and faith in Allah. He himself offered to be sacrificed. When his father mentioned his (son’s) impending sacrifice, without any reservation the son offered himself. All this is evidence that it was not merely father Abraham but also Ismail was having faith in Allah commandments. It was really unprecedented. Willingness on the part of both father and son to accept the will of God is dear to both,  besides being dear to our God.

The lesson learned from EID:

  • Sacrifice your most precious thing which you possess and the most benevolent Allah will always recompense us for our sacrifice that we make but this sacrifice should be without any expectation.
  • We should be compassionate towards the needs of others. By providing succour to the needy, we actually are performing our duty towards our society.
  •  Those who love their fellow-beings are loved by our God.
  • While fulfilling the needs of others, we should first of all, have indomitable faith on God.
  • God is very merciful and we all should have faith in Him.
  • We should all share our happiness and even bad moments and try to alleviate the condition of needy in whatever way we are able to do.

TRAITS OF A SIMPLE PERSON

MAKING OUR LIFE SIMPLE

SIMPL THOUGHTS CREATES SIMPLE WAYS OF LIFE

Life is already complex

Do not make it more complex

By insulting others’ beliefs

Since our beliefs

Are the last shred of hope

On which a sincere believer lives for

To uncover the realities of life

Along with our purpose of life

To live life fully

Without fear or any fear

To delve deeper within

Which is an ocean of knowledge within

But without neglecting life outside our domain

In order to discover

Our own world

That resides within

Just give yourself to it fully without reservation

And see how simplistic the life becomes

After exploring life within

It will reveal to us eternal truth

Which gives us abiding strength

to take control of our five senses

And not allow them

To wonder helter-skelter

In the mystic life of world around

And live effectively

With complex challenges

Which exist around us.

Understand, our understanding

Is based on our own training of our mind

By exposition of the world around

This mind training

Shapes our internal world

And our identity with the world around.

Those whose mind is trained well

Are in sync with like-minded persons

Thus are on the same page

Since such people know

That all are the creations

Of a common Creator

And the same life-force flows in all.

A simple person inculcates

A feeling of cooperation and camaraderie

In the mind of the people he comes across

Through his suave behavior pattern

And creates calm environs

Environs wherever he goes.

Therefore, make life a simple one

And not a complex one

Due to which

Living becomes a plaything

Path to live joyously

And not add to confused

State of mind

Like a rudderless boat

Floating in the midst of ocean

Bereft of any direction.

ON COMMITTING A MISTAKE

ON COMMITTING A MISTAKE

OUR MISTAKES FIRM UP OUR RESOLVE AND SHOWS US LIGHT INTHE DARKNESS

Not performing anything tangible
Is also a mistake of huge proportion
Since sitting tight bereft of action
For fear of making mistake
Leads to our static existence
Lacking in dynamism
Which ultimately
Can produce lethargy
And attitude so reckless
Will retard our forward march
Causing deceleration.

To point mistakes of others
While being oblivious of own mistakes
Is also a huge mistake.

While performing a job
Mistakes would be committed
It is natural
Since it is through trial and error
Experimentation and practical
Utility that we move forward
On the path of growth and development.

Going forward calls for taking risks
Since it is through risk taking only
We succeed or face failure
Depends on commitment to succeed
But if we fear from mistakes
While performing our tasks
Challenges in the form of mistakes
Would be there
But we’ve to face every mistake
Analyze them, break these mistakes apart
And then act.

Mistake realization
And according carry out course correction
Should be our motto
Rather than cursing
A person who points our mistake
Since it is through rectification of our mistake
We proceed further in our life
With a thought
That everyone of commits mistake
But a person who realizes
His mistake and rectifies
Is a person
Who learns something.

ON COMITING A MISTAKE

Obviously, when are not willing to transact any take for fear of committing of mistake, it too is a mistake. While jobs are done, there is every possibility of commission of mistake. It is as clear as a day. Those who dare to transact a job, they will come across obstacles, problems, pitfalls and opposition (some man-made and other natural) will certainly be there. In this sort of a scenario, we’ve have to cross all these hurdles and succeed. It is not that we shall not be making mistakes during the process of fructifying a task. Sure enough, mistakes will creep in but will to overcome those mistakes will help us overcome these mistakes and we shall come out with clean slate.

In Bhagwad Gita, it has been clearly mentioned: When you don’t do anything you will never commit a mistake, you will be a person who would not make any mistake, but you will never move; by and by you will simply rot.

NOT DOING ANYTHING USEFUL IS BEING STATIC

It is our duty to perform our Karmic deeds but sitting tight and doing thinking that what is happening is our destiny is idle thought. If we are not doing anything because of fear of making mistakes then we’re living in fools’ wonderland. This sort of thinking will make us lethargy and useless person. We may have fear of committing mistake then nobody will transact anything. We’ve to take risk; big or small. Even if we fail in our attempt, we still learn from the experiment of performing something thereby. we tend to be self-aware. Try again, do not repeat the mistakes and you will see the optimum result. In Bhagwad Gita Lord Krishna says that even if you go astray, make mistakes, then also you will grow in consciousness, you will turn in and find me only.

MAKING MISTAKE IS HUMAN BUT REPEATING THE SAME MISTAKE IS INSANITY

While performing our duty, we tend to lead astray, make mistake here and there but every mistake should be an eye opener. A realization should dawn on us that repeating mistake will make us immobilize, full of friction and our further growth will stop. It should be kept in mind that making the same mistake time and again repeatedly showcases our inattentive and unfocused mindset.

MISTAKEN IDENTITY CAN ALSO DO HARM

Sometimes, we commit mistake in passing our mistakes on others’ shoulders. This could be deliberate or just unintentional one. In any way, we should be responsible for our own Karma and should stop being judgmental about others.

LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES OF COMMITTING A MISTAKE

It should always be borne in mind that commission of repetitive mistakes will add up our debit of Karma in our account and in the long run nobody will believe us. This could be counterproductive to our further growth spiritually and enlightenment.

IDENTIFYICATION OUR OWN MISTAKE

After commission of mistake, we may justify and give several excuses for committing a mistake but pragmatically, if we find that we have committed mistake, we should gracefully accept and rectify the same and thereafter.

IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO ACCEPT OUR OWN MISTAKES

We tend to give so many excuses if and when we are mistaken. We do not want to accept that we have committed mistake. This is fallacy and tantamount to commit another mistake of not accepting your own mistake! A sincere person will accept his mistake and try to rectify the same as soon as it is observed that mistake has been made.

PATIENCE IS REQUIRED TO AVOID COMMITING MISTAKE

It has been observed that when we are under the influence of emotional perturbation or in a mental surcharged state, we cannot think rationally in that state of mind. In such scenarios, we tend to commit mistakes. Need is to be patient and introspect or pose q question to ourselves; what if we do not take hasty decision? This way we can avoid so many future blushes or embarrassments.

POINTING OUT A MISTAKE

When we point out a mistake of others, it should not be just to lower somebody’s esteem but to give somebody a chance to rectify his/her mistake. When doing so, we should also take into consideration his/her state of mind.
