It is a sad paradox that we are always penitent about our past and future. What we forget and do not act upon is our ‘present’. The present presents every opportunity to us to mend our ways and act accordingly that is in the way things could be sorted out without much ado. The past events always cast deathly shadow on us. They are like our shadow which follows us wherever we move around. We always look at it with suspicion and contempt like we look at the past and its bad tidings. We always look at ‘past’ for experiences, but have the habit of clinging to our bad experiences and in the process lose sight of what our present can bring to us. Similarly, the future. We attach too much importance to it, simply, because we think it may not be according to our expectations or may be, it would be worse than what we look forward to. This makes us still more remorseful. Importantly, thus, we always remain worried about our dead past and unpredictable and unfathomable future. Today is the real dawn which takes you anywhere you consider makes you happy. Work for today and your tomorrow will be secure and predictable – a rosy one.
It has been experienced that in our life we come across people and their behaviour. If anybody is cold shouldering you, it is possible that that person is showing his / her indifference and that indifference may take you to a lesser degree in your esteem in the eyes of others. This indifference is very harmful if somebody is doing this to you. Just introspect, if you come across such people, just be careful and make effort in making such adaptability that you try adjusting with the changed situation without losing yourself in the bargain.
Lack of warmth in the relation,
A life without compassion,
Feelings rooted in repulsion,
Is a life with missing cooperation.
Deathly indifference all pervasive,
Uneasy calm extensive
Bereft of concern – retrogressive, alas!
Aimless emptiness in attitude looming large,
Tense behaviour engulfing,
Making the environment searing,
Surprisingly, with the freezing coldness in feeling!
Stony-heartedness robbing the very peace of life,
Crumbling the edifice of existence,
And resulting in creation of hell out of seventh heaven
What a life ours would be,
Ith a basketful of warmth in feelings,
Concerned when concern is immensely needed,
Loving-kindness when kindness is a crying need.
Baba Ramdev’s Fast
According to Bapuji, Satyagrah is a potent non-violent weapon for getting our problems solved. But this weapon should not be used for every problem that could otherwise be solved through consensus, through discussion etc. If the weapon of Satyagrah is used indiscriminately , it could do more harm than good for a cause at hand. Baba Ramdev’s plan of fast from 04 Jun, for solution to corruption and retrieval of black money stashed outside the country is obviously good for the country at large. But his plan and nitty-gritty involved should remain apolitical. For Heaven’s sake, keep the politics away from his espouse causes to seek redressal. Everybody knows what is plagueing Anna Sahib’s Lokpal Bill and why it is not having a smooth sailing. It is being delayed citing one pretext or the other. These delay tactics will hamper the very spirit for which this Bill is being drafted. No interference from any quarter should b brooked. Now Baba Ramdev has spoken against the inclusion of PM and CJI under the ambit of the proposed bill. This, I think, will go against the very spirit and purpose for which Anna Sahib’s stood for. If the same happens to Baba’s crusade i.e. if somebody else acts at cross-purposes, then what will be the ultimate result of his fast. It will go as the previous ones. The actual subject will be forgotten and new things will creep up thus diluting everything that is gained. Time has come when we should cement our support base for fighting corruption, nepotism and devise ways how to retrieve the black money that is deposited out of our motherland. Downgrading or downsizing others by picking holes in their proposal(s) will hardly help the espoused cause(s) at hand but will give others leeway to put more spanners in the way for smooth solutions at hand. We should, therefore, work unitedly because our chief aim is to fight corruption and make our society feel proud in our rich traditions and culture. Hurdles, if there are, can be ironed out through dialogue and discussions. Positive outcome of any fast or Satyagrah can only accrue when the same is being done with sincerity and no for publicity. God may help this cause not to be swept under the carpet by the vested interests but may bear fruit ultimately for good of all of us. Be He bestow immense courage and fortitude to the Baba for his noble cause.
When thy perceptions go awry
Doubt persists for every doubtless thing,
Your mathematics goes topsy-turvy,
You add two plus two three,
Your rationality takes the backseat,
Your mind receptors get beating
Sugar tastes vinegar,
Vinegar itself loses its flavor,
Thy taste-buds turn insipid,
When thyself remain no thyself,
You smell rat in every deal,
The bountiful fragrance gives
Repulsive odour in rage.
Thy touch becomes even more awry,
Meda’s touch impedes,
Flawed feelings perceive,
Soft feelings for other turn
Barbed and spiky.
Hearing becomes frigid,
Fascinating music loses its charm,
Ye think it will do more harm,
Anger takes away the music of life,
From our midst, whilst in anger.
If they aspire to live a Balanced life,
Shun the anger that robs you
And puts you in somebody else’s clothing.
